Let me see. I am not monitoring how many days since the last time I shut down my pc. Sometimes I just reboot but not completely turn it off. Even my laptop. I don't turn it off.

They told me if I charge my laptop and want to use it for a longtime with the plug on, better remove the battery when it is fully charged. So that is what I do. I guess it is working for my laptop. My battery still has a lifespan of 2 hours when it is fully charged.

Hi fallenprince and welcome to myLot. Mine indefinitely, I have not turned off either one at home for about 4 years. I will reboot to refresh it but never turn it off. I work with IT and I remote log into mine from outdoors so mine must be on all the time.

So as long as we do a reboot once in an while it should be fine.

Most of mine are on thru the day; but not at night. Although I do have one which is on 24/7. It needs restarting every month or two due to Windows Updates and stuff. It's been on (with the exception of a power cut once last year) for the last 20mths or so.

My desktop is on all the time. When I am home, when I want my computer, I want it NOW! To turn it off and on just would not be acceptable. Now, when I am away and using my Netbook, I use it as much as needed, and then it is turned off. When I return back home, I charge it to full and it is ready for the next time.
