Well.......about time too. Almost every app in facebook is forcing you to add friends so that you can move up levels in games and apps. And now they're saying it's ok to clean up and defriend people you have taken ages to add. And like lemmings....there will be followers. Are you defriending anybody today...tomorrow or even the day after? I just need to know/

I just don't understand why everyone has so much time to spend playing the games on facebook! I don't care much for the site...personally I see to many fights started by to many people reading to many comments by to many people about what started out being just a simple comment. But the games... i get invites all the time and ignore them... I just don't have the time to spend playing them all nor do I want to spend my time playing them all! To many other things to do in life.

guess it's all about the type of work you do. Most of the time, I'm on some game or other coz I'm doing something that requires monitoring and I'm done with reading emails etc..etc...etc And I just wanna do something that's a complete no brainer as my thoughts are on something else. Sorry coffeebreak, I'm justifying my lapses {grin}

I have a Facebook account but I don't play the games or anything except post now and then and read some of my friends' posts. To be honest, I don't even read all of them. To me, keeping up with Facebook is boring and time consuming, but I know some people really enjoy it.

That and I know too many people personally on Facebook. If I want to talk to them, all I have to do is call them on the phone.

No I am not. I do not add people just to play the games there. I don't even send requests out to my friends all that much to join a game. I have the games Im addicted too lol and of course it would help if I could get more to join but I don't want them to get addicted as well, or worse annoyed at me for asking! So nope no defriending.

Did I get it right that you only befriended your fellow game players to level up your game status? That was a cheap shot from facebook, holding you guys prisoners of games! Hmmmm, did you not, aside from the game playing, establish any kind of bonding that would allow the friendship remain status quo? If you did, why clean up? It is better to have more friends, even if the relationship is far from "close". At least you have an edge. Many times, life is a numbers game.

Yeah you're right :-D You do tend to form tight friendships planting in each others garden or creating mayhem in some city or other full or mafia and mobsters {grin} And it requires great collaboration on the part of your team mates and you to achieve each mission. So you're right, NO DEFRIENDING.

Just my two cents...I think that is terrible to make a "defriending" day. I dont' care if it is for games are not, just the fact of FB would ask you to do defriend somebody is needless to say disrespectful on all sorts of levels !!!

Couldn't agree more, but then again I do see their point that when people add for no other purpose than to play games and don't connect with the people they add hmmm....maybe there is some sense to this defriending thing. I wonder if I would be offended if somebody defriended me when I don't really know them or even notice it :-D

wow i never knew there was a defriending day. i know the apps want you to add more friend and build a strong mafia and whatever, that is why i stopped playing Mafia Wars. I also thought it was a waste of time coz some month ago i was like crazy for that game. Not anymore. I don't feel like playing it. And yeah i won't defriend anyone because all the people on my facebook are the people i know. No strangers there so i wont be defriending anyone.

Welcome to the club {grin}, I'm an on and off avid mafia wars person. However, I just can't seem to get into the daily routine of playing games. Tends to get boring after some time, but when your new found friends keeps pestering you for stuff, well you know you've created some kinda bond with them. So you're right, NO DEFRIENDING.

Facebook phenomenon - all options and familiarity
Hi, I have seen the updates, yes we can no defriend people we just approved to be friends with.. I find it helpful and ridiculous. That person will wonder why he/she can't see updates from you. Might as well block the member forever if the bugging continues. I still continue to play games, specially tycoons. I have been through all games, like farming, killing, pets, building, restaurants, real estates, social etc... I easily get tired. So, it will be a year now and I have left them. But I have tried my best to be hanging around FB.. My friends will remain there, but if there are several members who tend to abuse, like the perverts.. then defriend will be very applicable. :) take care!
