Eating a full meal once a day is not a good habit. It is better to have 5-6 meals a day, but that doesn't mean to eat full 6 meals. This means that we can eat 5-6 small size meals a day because this can help our digestive system works properly as well as our metabolism.

Healthy Eating Habits! Aah, my favorite subject! I eat 3 - 4 sensible meals in a day, I also have two snacks in between. I exercise for 30 minutes 5 times a week. I am very healthy and slim and with the rise in my metabolism I can eat very well. I use to be a really bad yo yo dieter and it was not good because I was so sluggish and tired all the time. Two years ago I started to drink lots of water in place of sodas also began my healthy eating habits and exercising and am very healthy. My skin is very clear and I am very slim as a result. It takes a great deal of discipline along with a full change in eating habits. I am very pleased with my results.

I do not like to put my picture on the net anywhere. My ex-husband without my consent put my modeling pictures a few years ago and it got me in a big law suit which caused me a great deal of loss, because the Charity I work for at the time sued me. It took two years to recover and make out okay and for this reason I am always careful and leary of what others can do, after all he was my husband at the time and hurt me that way. So unless it is my private Facebook for my family I do not put any anywhere. I still work with the Children's charity, not so often as I use to because he hurt my credibility with them. To salvage what little I do, I try to be careful.

Hi Surekharathi. It isn't good to only eat one meal a day. I have been skinny and I have been really fat. The times that I gain weight seems to be when I only eat one meal a day. So I do several little snacks off and on all day. I have lost weight by eating a healthy snack during the day when I feel a little hungry feeling I will grab something healthy and eat it. Not a big meal just an apple or orange celery, yogurt something that is healthy for you. No candy except when I get a choclate attack and that is only once every 6 months or so I am not a candy eater never have. Just remember too much of anything isn't good for you. God bless and have a great day!

She isn't loosing the weight right when you lose weight fast it comes back fast. When you eat a normal healthy diet you lose weight the right way. I was well over 200lbs I mean I was so heavy I was made myself sick. And it wasn't because I ate all the time. No I ate once maybe twice a day. But it wasn't making me lose weight it was making my body retain the bad stuff and not the good stuff. So one day I looked at myself and was really upset so I started eating special K cereal early about 6 or 7am then I would walk 3miles a day. Then eat a light lunch and at the end of the day I would eat a healthy dinner meat vegetables and have a small ice cream. You know in 6 months I had lost about 45 50lbs. And in a year I was down to less then 200lbs. I am still working out by doing what I love working in the yard and still eating healthy I expect this time next year to be down to my ideal weight which is 100lbs. It really works I know it worked for me.

I am forever being told that my eating habits are all wrong and 100% unhealthy. Basically, I eat when I feel hungry which normally is once a day, seldomly I will eat twice a day and it has been known for me to go 3 days before eating. It is not that I don't want to eat it is purely I just don't feel hungry and i still feel full of energy and mentally alert. Personally, I feel the time to eat is when my body says it's hungry.

I think one should eat when feels hungry. But it is definately not good idea to eat only once in a day.It can cause longterm bad effects on your digestive system and ultimately on your whole health.I think, what are you eating is more important than how many times you are eating.I think one should avoid junk food, food having the high calories and fats.Lots fruits and milk can boost yuor energy to work.

hi surekharathi here in the US we most of u s eat three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner.I am a diabetic and I try to have a snack between meals to keep my blood glucose at a good level. they are small snacks and one at bedtime so I will not get low blood sugar in the middle of the night. It is best for health's sake to eat three meals a day and a snack at bedtime. One huge meal is not healthy at all.You overload your system'and can cause indigestion too. a lot of doctors suggest us diabetics eat four small meals a day to keep our blood sugar on a reasonable level.

I have always heard growing up that we should eat three square meals in a day. After I was told I had diabetes type II back in 2005 I was told it would be better to eat several small meals (up to 6) throughout the day as it would keep the blood sugar from fluctuating as much. Now I don't do either. I eat whenever I am hungry, but it isn't necessarily 3 times per day or more. I guess if I had better access to food, I would eat more often, but right now I have limited transportation so I have to make the food last as long as possible.

I think I've read somewhere that the healthier habit is to eat small meals every two to three hours. That way your body would think that food is abundant and would use up the energy that is derived from the food and therefore there won't be excess fat for it to store. For me, it depends on what food I have within reach. I eat what I like. If there's nothing to eat, I don't eat. Simple as that.

I prefer to have my meal more frequently than by just having once or twice a day. It is very dangerous to have our meal once or twice within a day because at that time when we have our meal, we are extremely hungry. When we are extremely hungry, we shall eat many foods at once without realizing the dangerous. I did have Muslim friends. During the fasting period, they only eat once in the early morning and the other meal during the late evening. One of my Muslim friend's brother-in-law passed away because of eating too much of foods at once in the evening. To avoid the same incident from being happened again, they are advised to eat some light snacks before they start eating their normal meal.

I think eating once a day is not healthy. I was told by a doctor that if you eat 5 or 6 small meals each day it's good for your metabolism. It also is supposed to help us loose weight. The key is eating right, not junk food such as candy or cake or ice cream.

I heard that the Asian practice is to have not so much 'meals' as 'snacks,' more-or-less all day long.

I just can't control my taste buds. I do eat at least 3 times a day. Two times tea is mandatory. Other than that I cant control sweets and snacks from my kitchen. It so happens that, my husband would say I did not eat even a piece of the sweet, who finished it :). My mantra is eat well, work well and do exercise or walking for health.

I feel that eatning once a day, will eventually lead to problems if it is done permanently. I used to eat little during the day when I was working and often skip lunch, but I found that I was far too hungry when the evening came around and would tend ot overeat, so now I will make sure that I also get a meal sometime during the daytime. _Derek

I try to eat several times a day and in small quantities. Eating once a day is not good for health as I heard. This means more food at one meal and the stomach and liver have then a hard task to do. This may cause health problems. Then I eat when I feel to because this is a signal my organism is launching to draw my attention I lost energy.

It is actually better to eat 3 full meals plus some small filling snacks in between. It maintains blood sugar level and actually helps you to lose weight (if you are into dieting) because the more frequent you eat, the less likely is it that you overeat. :)

I try to eat at least twice a day, or sometimes 3 times, small meals. I don't tend to eat much, cause I don't like the feeling of being completely full, but one time a day is still too little since our body needs a bit more than that to process everything.

There have been quite a few times where i have skipped meals accidentaly as i am way too busy to even think about food. I work full time and am very busy and i am also a single parent so i have a load of things to do. Time just seems to pass by so quickly that i forget to eat, or if i only have a littlee bit of time then i may jst eat a piece of fruit, or chocolate bar or a cake, etc, just to tide me on until later for when i get home to make tea for myself and my son. When i do have free time on my hands i always eat my meals and i do often snack on different things which honestly aren't good for my health.

As a graduate of a medical related course.. I guess It is healthier to eat again and again. it's simply called small frequent diet.. you eat every now and then when ever your hungry but on small amounts only...
