Westboro Baptist Church at it again...

Many of you may have heard about or even seen about the recent Supreme Court ruling protecting the radical Westboro Baptist Church's "freedom of speech" for them to be allowed to protest and basically disrupt military funerals. But today, they have really stooped to even more insanity. Some of you may have heard about the tragic fire here in Pa, that killed 7 CHILDREN in a home in Central Pennsylvania. This radical "church" (and I use that term EXTREMELY LOOSELY)announced that they plan on protesting at the funeral for these children. The "church" claims that this fire was "God's punishment on Pennsylvania" for the recent law suit that lead to the Supreme Court's decision. I"m sorry, but in my opinion, that's about the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. I mean even the non believer recognizes that God LOVES children...so how can a "church" justify children being killed tragically as "God's punishment". That's beyond me

I couldn't agree more. I have not read anything about how the Supreme Court justified their decision but still question it. There has to be a way to stop these people. I get so angry when I read of their activity. The God I serve does not condone their behavior.

They are protected under the First Amendment...they have the right to free speech, to assemble, etc. I don't agree with it at all but to deny WBB those rights would be dangerous for everyone.

I agree vjohnson...the God i serve doesn't condone the hatred either. I haven't really seen how the Supreme court justified their decision either, but i like the statement that the father of the young man made who this case came about for..when he said that 8 justices didn't have the sense that God gave a goat. I think that pretty well says it all.

i find that it is too bad about this church because it sure gives other Baptist churches a bad name. most people will lump all Baptists together and say that they are like this church while they are no where at all like them.

That's very true cher. Truthfully, I hadn't even thought of that. I used to attend a Baptist Church and I can definitely tell you first hand, that it was nothing like these hate mongers who call themselves a church profess.

Hello Speechteacher, OH, NO! They're at it AGAIN! they won't survive here in the Philippines, that's for sure.how could they allow an insanity religion to exist? I am sure they will be in "HELL" when their time passes by. i know in my heart, what they're doing is just not right. but it reminds us though of how hypocrite christians can be, i think they're mere existence could keep other "true" devoted christians from turning into them. let them live for now.

Yes they're at it again Knight...but the amazing thing is that people of the community surrounding where these children are being buried TODAY, is rallying around the family to protect them. I agree that the WBC is definitely the ultimate example of hypocritical Christians and would most certainly sway struggling Christians or non believers AWAY from the Lord.
