Does MyLot pay if you add your friend who's a member already?

In the office, I thought I was the only one who has a myLot account. To my surprise some of them already have their own accounts. And.. I thought I was going to earn referrals. My question is if myLot pays if you add friends who are already members. Whether it's a yes or no I will invite them anyway. But... I was really curious.

You already got your answer, but I would just like to add the benefits of adding them as your friends.
When you start a discussion, they will receive an email alert from myLot about your discussion. They can also see discussions you started in their home page and under 'Discussions - Friends Started'. That means you have more chances of them responding to your discussion and gets you the chance to earn more by commenting on their responses.
When they start discussion, same thing. You will get notification from myLot about discussions they started thereby giving you an opportunity to respond to their discussion.

They will only receive a notifier if they have them set to 'on'.
I wonder how many new users are aware of that feature as soon as they join or whether it is something that they learn later on.

They will not be your referrals, just your friends (if you add them) therefore you will not earn from their activity.
Only those who sign up directly under you using your referral link will create referral earnings for you.

If you don't invite them there would be no way of Mylot knowing that they are your referrals...

I don't think that is how it works. If I were to say that everyone here is my friend and I add them through referrals, then I would be making big bucks here on myLot. Same goes with all the other websites. Keep sending referrals, there are still many people out there who doesn't know about myLot yet.
