Why MS Dhoni trusts Chawla but not Sreesanth?

hi friends.
what is the reason dhoni gives for picking chawla even though he has not been effective?
CHAWLA NEEDS MORE MATCH PRACTICE AND IT WILL HELP HIS CONFIDENCE.
ok he is being a good captan for not letting down his bowlers but what about sreesanth?
if he picked chawla because he picked wickets in the warm-up games,sreesanth has been the best quick bowler in those warm up matches.
but chawla gets 3 matches while sreesanth gets only one match.
chawla gets to play after 2 bad games but sree is out of the team after just one bad game and all the other things he did are forgotten?
do i suspect a double standard here?

Hi Friend Let me clear one thing here that Dhoni is not having any personal interest in Chawla,Sreesanth or Ashwin..He is favouring Chawla because he wanted the wrist spinner in the side so that he has more variations in the bowling so he wanted chawla to get back his confidence as the foreign player not playing spin well specially wrist spin..If he had interest than he would picked ashwin for all matches because ashwin is his chennai mate but he is not doing that and Dhoni is a very great captain..some one made a good point that sreesanth should be given chance i too believe that because He is a Genuine Outswing Bowler..In his days he also un playable and make sure he will little expensive but he will definitely pick wkts which is most necessary at this time which team India want...

thats the thing i dont get.
why this obsession over variety?
you know and i know that we dont lack in spinners.
infact even ojha is better than chawla in containing.
but no.we have yuvi to bowl slow left arm,why we need another slow left arm bowler even if he is a good quality bowler.
the only guy who atleast gave hope for india atleast in powerplay overs is ashwin.whether he delivers or not is the big question but atleast he is confident enough.
but no.we have offies like bhajji and yusuf.why we need another offie even if he is a quality bowler.
what next?
why we need nehra when we already have zaheer to bowl left arm pace.
ok we shall replace him with sreesanth.
oh no.
now we have 2 right arm fast bowlers in munaf and sree.
what to do?
alright we go with zaheer,unaf,bhajji and chawla.with yuvi .
now we have all the variety we want but is it good enough to take 10 wickets in a match.
they must be joking.
sree might go for even 8 an over but he gives that aggresion which is pretty much absent in our bowling.

we are not asking if dhoni ia great captain. we are concerned with his selection of team members. agreed that chawla is getting a chance so that he learns moving his wrist and takes 5 to 6 wickets per game.
it is alrite that he practices the bowling variety. why this is at the cost of the hopes and expectation of the nation. let him learn wrist moving bowling in the domestic cricket like ranji trochee and all.
we are not saying that he is showing partiality as per states but there is no doubt that chawla got an entry into the world cup only because of dhoni. he could deny this but what is the truth is known to all.
again why nehra? could not he apply sreeshant?
this kind of gesture from the captain is not called for.

I completely agree with your point. I do not think the world cup is the place to provide players with match practice. Dhoni has baffled everyone by continuing to play Chawla. Even yesterday when he decided to rest him, he did not give chance to Ashwin instead picked up Nehra and that backfired big time!!

Actually including Chawla in final 16 was a big mistake so giving him four game was even bigger mistake.I agree with you that Sreesanth should have given the chance as he is only bowler after Zaheer who is capable of swinging the ball and taking wickets at crucial moments.Also he has good pace so removing him after one bad game against Bangladesh is not fair.I think he should play against WI instead of Nehra or Munaf .

i think dhoni's point of playing spinner in the place of sreesath is a good idea. I think sreeshanth is good for test cricket not ODI. In dhoni's point of view he think pitch like this are good for spinner may be that's why he's playing spinner's. But i think he should try ashwin over than chawla.

i think ashish nehra should be replaced first to include sreeshant. the over all economy rate of nehra is very high & his performance in the world cup is very miserabls better to give chance to chawla or sreeshanth. praveens injury is big blow for india.

Hi, favoritism can not be ruled out from Indian cricket. Not only you and me but almost all are voicing that what on earth gave Chawla a chance to play in the world cup? Well it would have been justified had he been a star spinner and a good batman too.
Now this is clear that what Dhoni thinks happens so far in the team selection.

I dont think that sreesanth is any better than chawla.Even bangladesh hit sreesanth all around the park,left alone the quality teams.
India has only one good bowler in this world cup,that is zaheer khan.Others all are kinda come-and-go bowlers.It surprises me that chawla was even picked for this world cup.I think they should have been picked only one specialist spinner that is harbhajan singh and include a better fast bowler than nehra,say, ishanth sharma.He is such a quality bowler.

i think chawla lends variety in the team and thats one of the reason that he trusts him more than anyone else probably he is trying to find a kumble in him. its far from being realist to be honest. he can never become a kumble even if kumble gives him all the tricks to chawla..
