We were 10 years old, when we started to learn a, b, c of English. We were admitted in prep class of our primary school when we were 5 years old. There was no English in primary classes of our school. English was introduced in fifth grade of our school’s syllabus. This was a strange language and difficult language for us. Many students of us were failing in examination papers of English. Many use to leave the studies. This was a challenge for those who were not able to read and write in English. I am still feeling that I am not good in English. It is an ocean and we are still trying to explore it. Try try again, caused it easy. I am practicing to become perfect. And I am glade to say that my struggle is not going in vain. I can read, write and also speak in English now. And I think, this is a reward I won by my hard work and continuous studies and struggles. Every thing is possible if you work to get that.

As you know, Fift_czech, you really don't "learn" a native language--it is something that babies pick up and the whole processes just seems to happen. The parents don't sit down with their child and teach him/her the verbs and all that stuff. Therefore, I want to say that it is my mother tongue, first language if you will. I have been studying Spanish (on the other hand) since I was 15 and that is about 8 years now ;). I speak it excellently. Here is a discussion about English that you may be interested in: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/781098.aspx?p=0 Pablo PS: Plus (+) for your topic :D

English is a very common language and is used most to different countries. Since i was at the age of 4 where i started schooling as kindergarten pupil. We only speak english in school. why? because my school then is exclusive ang we talk tagalog of filipino langauge ONLY when filipino subject is in. I love english and up to now i really want to make it perfect, although nothing is perfect BUT so far ive been using and studying english for years, most of my life :)
