I Hope This Dream Doesn't Come True

We've all heard about Japan's earthquake and subsequent tsunami and it really is terrible to comprehend the horror and fear the people had to endure. It doesn't bear thinking about and my heart goes out to all who are suffering right now.
About an hour before getting up this morning I had a dream and I really hope it doesn't come true. Perhaps it's already happened? Who knows? But it felt like a prophetic dream (I had one about concorde not long before it crashed) and I'd like someone to put my mind at rest that it really WAS just a dream and not something to worry about.
Anyway, the dream involved either being in or watching a camera view from a helicopter. I can't figure out if I was watching a TV screen or in the helicopter itself. Either way, I know I was looking DOWN at many people on some kind of jetty made of wooden planks. Each person had black hair and they reminded me of ants, there were so many of them. What they were doing on this jetty I don't know but as I watched they began to run from left to right and looking left I realised why...they were running for their lives trying to get away from this huge wave fast approaching them. I finally woke up as the wave of water mixed with black sludge totally engulfed these people as though they were nothing. There was no debris as the wave went past..and no people either. They just disappeared.
I guess the tsunami has been on my mind a lot so that's probably the reason I had the dream..or nightmare depending on which way you look at it.
I only hope there aren't any more disasters like this in the offing. What's wrong with our planet, is it trying to tell us something or what?

I know that what you saw is just a dream. And i think that you saw this as part of the images yourmind is able to process when you saw the tsunami and the earthquake footages...
Do not let this dream of yours bother you as much as not being able to think clearly. Sometimes we dream about things we have seen in our waking moments...
Do not forget to pray and let us all pray that no other such devastating event happen again.

Thanks for that. It was such a vivid dream, at first I thought I was in that helicopter..not a nice feeling I have to say.
I agree that it was probably all on my mind before I went to sleep and it was still there during my dream phase, if that makes sense.
I too, hope and pray nothing like that happens again. Unfortunately, I think it will but I promise I won't stress over it.

chiyosan, I agree that this dream was probably inspired by the recent news but I don't think you can be totally sure it was just a dream.

Very good point but there was a port destroyed in the tsunami and you can't have a port inland..although it probably is now.

Well, they are predicting another big after shock that might produce another tsunami..Mother earth is just doing what she always does. The earth moves without any regard for us. According to the news this morning, Japan is now 6 feet further north than it used to be - such is the magnitude of this event.
Look at these before and after pictures. http://www.abc.net.au/news/events/japan-quake-2011/beforeafter.htm

I can't say I'm surprised that Japan has moved 6 feet further north. The landscape is changing at an alarming rate isn't it?
Thanks for the link.

Very true and not just in Japan. The open fields where I used to play when I was a boy were obliterated by a motorway 50 years ago

I'm pretty sure it's just a dream. I have disaster dreams all the time. They range from the sun exploding to zombies overrunning the earth. And there was one where the moon broke up and crashed into the ocean. I never think much of my dreams, and I don't believe that dreams have any sort of symbolic, subconscious, or prophetic meaning.
The Tsunami is on your mind and it's shaken you up. Me too, but I haven't dreamed about it yet.

Yup. Really. I've been having a whole lot of end of the world dreams lately though. It's a little freaky.
I don't know about no one believing a film of the disasters happening these days. People jump to believe a whole lot of things. In fifty or a hundred years maybe the Japanese earthquake and Tsunami will be a movie too.

Well, your dream already came true sadly and that is why it was in your thoughts. Apparently 2000 bodies were washed up on the shore which is just horrific and hard to comprehend!
I have been trying to avoid the whole Japan thing but it is hard when it is on the radio news every hour. It has just been too much in recent months.

I did hear that Prince William was in New Zealand last week and then I heard on the radio yesterday that he was in Brisbane and Ipswich at the moment which were areas hit hardest by recent flooding near me. Apparently he was very well received by the community and just wanted to be accepted by the people as a normal person. He was very down to earth apparently.
No, I am not a royalist at all. I really see no reason why royal families are needed or special. They are an outdated custom now that governments control the countries.

Princess Beatrice did raise over £80,000 for charity with THAT hat she wore to THAT wedding.
Good on 'er I say!

I know what you mean..and the nuclear thing won't go away either. I feel sorry for those engineers heroically trying to fix the problem and it all reminds me of a series I once saw called "The Edge Of Darkness" all about being exposed to radiation. It was based in the UK and it scared the beJesus out of me.
You're probably not a Royalist but "Wills" is on his way to Oz after being in New Zealand the last few days. He's looking more and more like his mother every day. His presence may help in regards fund-raising for all disasters that have happened recently, which is the main reason he is travelling. At least some good will come out if it.

Hiya Janey,
Sometimes I get dreams like that a few have come true as well. But I ignore them and they go away the thing I think is that they will never happen and that way I feel better about it. After all it´s no good fretting about something that might never happen. I have dreamed about Tsunamis before as well and it seemed so real but was glad that it did not.
I have more flashes of intuition than anything while I am awake than anything else they come true but not all the time either.
Me I just put it all down to it might not happen. My way of coping with it.

Intuition, yes, that's a good way of describing it. Sometimes I will get up out of bed and have a feeling of dread. Does that ever happen to you? I did that over the concorde crash. Everyone else was saying how surprised they were that concorde had crashed but I wasn't and I really think Qantas are building up to one too..for the simple reason there hasn't been a serious accident yet but there will be as I can't help thinking they're being a tad complacent. You know, "it will never happen to us" type scenario.
Oh dear, my imagination is working overtime again..I shall stop now!

Hiya Janey,
That has happened to me sometimes and thank goodness I take it all in my stride and don´t really take much notice of it.
Plane Crashes seems to be a favourite with my intuition although it is not with me I can tell you. If I dream about one I just hope that it never happens. Of course sometimes they can be just dreams.
Mine works with the News as well they will say sometimes this Woman has vanished and her Boyfriend said he is looking for her. The back of my mind will keep saying he did it but they won´t find him out yet.
I was right with one who has just been arrested yet again as they can´t pin any evidence on him properly.
But of course that is not much help to them knowing that I know that he did kill her of course he did. In these cases I am not using my logic it´s something that I cannot explain.
I can´t make it work it works on it´s own you see and it´s sneaky too (grin). What would´nt I give to know to know the numbers of the Lottery say this Week how about that?
We have both got something in common then eh?
xxx

Mum has intuition and she just KNEW a letter was coming from the Council telling her she was being "potted" as she put it. She had felt "weird" for days before the letter arrived. I was there, thankfully, otherwise she would've been in bits.

To be honest, I've not heard that one my friend although a so-called "bad" dream doesn't always mean that something bad is going to happen in real-life. In fact, it is generally the opposite. The Dream Dictionary website may put your mind to rest if you want to check it out sometime.

It is free so don't take any notice of that ordering the book thingy on the side. All you need to know is within the alphabet showing at the bottom.

The dream is probably just residuals from everything you've seen about it on the telly.
I keep thinking of Superman's origin... Krypton exploded after months of tremors, etc...

We could do with Superman's assistance now couldn't we? Not too sure what he'd do though.

Bad dream, nightmare I should say! But what if that bad dream comes true unlike contrary to your wish and desire?
Indeed anything could happen beyond anyone's expectation as what happened to a rich and powerful and modernized country such as Japan. Our only refuge now is in God and we should consider contemplating in his word in 2Chronicles 7:14 now more than ever
[i]"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."[/i

Sometimes reality and dreams get combined and we have nightmares. The dream would be to have a peaceful world with no more disasters. The reality is that the disasters we have seen so far are nothing compared to what's coming. There's nothing wrong with the planet but there is definitely something wrong with what we are doing to the planet, like mining, oil drilling, nuclear testing, and the vibrations caused by airplanes and cars. How much abuse can the planet take before disastrous consequences occur?

Yes, I do know what you mean. I was on the Greenpeace site earlier and they know about "all things nuclear." I've been reading about Japan testing nuclear weapons underground (and I doubt they're the only country doing this) so you're right..it's us to blame not the planet itself. It's only going to get worse too what with more demands on resources, etc.

Hello anil02. Many thanks for your response. Yes, you're right, the tsunami in Japan was on my mind as I went to sleep and no doubt my subconscious mind took over and dreamed about it too. I only hope the situation doesn't get any worse over there.
Welcome to MyLot.

I'm with the others...I think all the images you've seen on TV and with your thinking about it during your waking hours, it manifested itself in your dream. Unfortunately, this won't be the last "disaster" to hit. The earth's plates will continue to shift causing earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes to erupt, etc. While mankind could certainly be nicer to our planet, the truth is, most of this is way beyond our control. We just have to adapt to an everchanging earth. So I guess I disagree with the poster above, to a large extent, how does mining, drilling, etc. cause the earth's plates to shift? In my opinion, they don't.

It can't help drilling deeper and deeper though can it as there are dangers associated with that to begin with. The Chilean mine is a good example of this. We are drilling a lot deeper than we used to for the simple reason we're running out of coal or whatever it is we're drilling for. That can't have a positive effect on the earth but that's my opinion and I don't expect you to agree lol.

Yes.You have been thinking about it a lot. Relax, everything is ok! And I am praying a lot for those people who lost family ,house and everything. I dont understand why this is going on now! It is really sad and make us think about it a lot.
Actually I have dreamed this kind of dream too, but when I wake up and see that everything is going just fine I come down!haha
\good luck

The dream was so real, you know? And it wasn't anything that I saw on televison..just similar. I keep thinking that what I saw in my dream actually happened and it's troubling to say the least.
I was relieved to see I was still in my bed when I woke up!!
