My son is so funny,he sets his alarm at night and when it rings to wake him up,he turns it off and so he's always late getting to school.

I do the same thing before too. Setting alarm to wake up early and not to be late going to the office but it's not effective. So i stopped setting up an alarm. I tried my best to wake up early without an alarm.

Yes, and just like today, i wake up early without an alarm. We go for a jog and aerobics. I get to office just right on time. :) a productive day ahead without relying to an alarm at its start. :)

If I woke up still too sleepy, I'll set it up again, maybe for 5 to 10 minutes and then I'll get up. I just need some 5 or 10 minute rest before I get up from my bed. But I find the alarm clock really useful. I never abuse it, I really wake up.

That is good because following your alarm clock as it yells is like doing the command of a nagging mother with respect

Unfortunately I sometimes do that! OR worse, I forget to set the alarm after adjusting what time I want it to go off- like I did this morning

ha,ha,ha, maybe you need to get another alarm to remind you that you need to set your second alarm that will wake you up in the early morning.

I do too! It's nice to snuggle just a few minutes more. But before that alarm beeps, my body somehow has this built in alarm clock. I usually wake up in the wee hours of the morning just to see how many hours more can I sleep before it beeps, then I doze back to sleep. I usually give myself another 15 minutes more after the alarm beeps, before I wake up and head off to the shower.

Nah! I don't want to drink water so early in the morning. I usually get myself out of bed when I know I would already be late if I snuggle a little longer. In fact just today, I almost got late. I had adjusted the time wrongly. I had it set at 5:30am then in half-asleep eyes, I adjusted it again to 5:45am. So I thought, unfortunately I set the alarm at 5am. Naturally it would only beep 5am the following day. When I checked my watch it was already 5:59. Would you imagine how fast I did all my daily routine? I was wonder woman! Fortunately, I was at the office before 8am.

so you are also doing the same adjusting your alarm a bit late. Why don't you place a glass of water beside you so that when it rings you drink it then go back to sleep, before it rings again for sure you will feel the need to flush and therefore whether you like it or not you will stand.

I usually turn the alarm off and get back to sleep. But sometimes, i directly wake up and get prepared for work. If i turn it off, after few minutes my girlfriend calls me and wake me up.

Sometimes ,we, ourselves are the alarm itself. We wake up first before the alarm rings because our mind is already set to remind us of our daily routine.

It is my practice too, that i am already awake before the alarm clock ringing, maybe because before I go to sleep, I set my mind that I should wake up early so that I might not late in my appointment. Sometimes I am already awake and still at bed just waiting for the clock to ring before I rise.

As a student, time management is very much important and so your alarm clock plays an important role.

Haha, believe me when I say this - most people actually do turn the alarm off and go back to sleep, yours truly included! The only exception is that in my case, I press the "snooze" button, so that the alarm actually rings again after a couple of minutes. I normally snooze the alarm for about 4-5 times before actually waking up (unwillingly, of course! ). It is always a nice feeling to tell yourself you can continue sleeping for a little while even after the alarm has gone off.......

yeah, if only the alarm can talk he might say I HAVE ENOUGH OF YOU!!!, then blaming me again and again that you were late because of me huh..., sounding like a nagging mommys,ha,ha,ha.

My alarm is usually placed somewhere, where I won't be able to reach easily just by stretching my hands, eg on a nearby table. So I'll need to get up to switch it off.

That is better, the louder it is the more the chance you'll get attention to that and therefore you are forced to stand.

I do that sometimes too- I set an alarm but then when i think it's too early and I still need to get more sleep, I just snooze it for a few minutes. Fortunately I never get late for school.

It depends. I usually ste my alarm clock an hour earleir than my intended wajke up call. I get awaken by the clock but I had the tendency to turn it off and sleep for a few more minutes (that sometime sleads to an hour). At least, I get up on time and still steal a few winks before actually getting out of bed.

well, just like one of our friends doing, adjust your time 30minutes late to the required time that you must be awake but then of course oftentimes since we know that adjustment we did,we keep on getting back to a sound sleep.zzzzzzzzzz

Yes it is true, I told him that "better not adjust your alarm so that YOU WILL NO LONGER BE DISTURBED". He is really a very funny stubborn kid but it is a miracle that he will be graduating this April.

HaHahahaha... I too have the same problem. I am not joking. But I too have the same habit of turning off my alarm clock when it rings in the early morning. I set my alarm at night. When it rings in the morning, I set "snooze" on the alarm until it completes two or three more rounds and after that I turn it off. I have been doing this for more than 2 years. But I found a solution for this funny behaviour of mine. Now I am placing two alarms at the two corners of my bed-room. I set bothe the alarms so that they ring at the same time. So, I have to walk to both the ends of my room and turn them both off. In this way, I wont feel sleepy after turning my alarms off! Try the same idea with your son . It might work!

Hi Dear Macayadann! I have my mobile phone as my Alarm clock and I have set one tune of instrumental music from one old Hindi movie which is very sweet one! I like that music very much and I feel happy to start my day with that sweet music! Since it is set once and the option of every day has been selected I need not set this Alarm on daily basis.Previously I used to get up immediately after the alarm has started to enjoy the tune! Now since I have postponed my work by one hour, now a days I listen to the tune completely before putting it off just to get after one hour later, when I am woken up by my farm watchman! I think there is some similarity between your son and me, No? LOL! Thanks for the discussion!

It is soothing just like the morning breeze and the chirping sound of birds, better than the sound of alarming clock. The day starts with a smile.

Hi! I do this too. I'm the kind of person who is hard to wake up. I use my phone as my alarm clock. When it rings, I snooze it for 5 minutes. Sometimes, I take 2-3 snoozes before I actually get up I'm usually not late but I get just in the nick of time. Though I love the sleep and the snoozes, I find that I would need to hurry preparing to go so I won't be late.

yes, I do that also adjusting the alarm once it rings.I do not understand, we will stand anyway why not in the first ring we hear instead, well, maybe because our blood is not yet awake that pulls us back to sleep.

I don't have the option of a snooze button on my alrm clock. When it rings, it is just wise for me to get out of bed and get moving for the day. if i were to fall back asleep, my daughter would miss her schoolbus then i would be running her off to school instead because i didnt abide my alarm clock.

The heroic battle of mothers whether we like it or not we need to face the battle of getting up early to start the abusive routines. And so armed with alarm clock, we go to rise and keep moving.

Yes i do turn off and sleep back. Actually i always put more then one alarm as in one time alarm i can't wake up. So i do put more then one and always wake up after last alarm. As when i turn off alarm before i check the time. Good day!

I have done that and it turned out that our alarm clock became his loud voice asking me to turn it off for he was still sleeping. We all woke up because of him.
