Today? "I would not have intervened. I think there were a lot of other ways to affect Qaddafi. I think there are a lot of allies in the region we could have worked with. I would not have used American and European forces." Easy Republicant Policy Predictor algorithm: Take President Obama's position and multiply by a negative one. (Hmm... high potential for Presidential Practical Jokes here...)

Wait just a minute there. New Gingrich is flip flopping? That just can't be possible. That's like saying that the president unilaterally authorizing a military attack is unconstitutional and then a few years after being elected, unilaterally authorizing a military attack on Libya.

Every politician says what he thinks people want to hear at the present moment. They do not even know what they feel about things half the time...they just say what they have to say to get votes or attention....They are all crooks and liars!!!!

20-20 Hindsight? Or just covering his behind...All politicians are liars and crooks. You just eventually try to weed out the worst of them and vote for the least horrible...

Indeed -- that's precisely why I voted for President Obama. It is awfully nice of folks like Newt to make it easy to weed out the worst of 'em.

There is a very interesting article at USAToday which lists the members of congress that President Obama met with in the Oval Office concerning the Libya no-fly. I wish I could link it but, I'm still not allowed. The list includes Mr. Speaker, et als. They met with the President on 3/16. USAToday/Obama meets with members of congress. Wonder why Boehner is pretending to have no knowledge?

The War Powers Act doesn't require the president to meet with a handful of congressman before going to war, it requires a vote by congress to go to war. Besides, Boehner's issue as far as I know is that Obama doesn't have, or hasn't articulated a clear plan for our involvement there.

What we need are leaders who will lead and make the tough calls and not follow the polls. I beleive that Gov. Christie said that he was elected to do a job and if the voters don't like it they can vote him out of office in the next election. It would be refreshing to see a leader do what they say they would do during the election.

I am not surprised one bit. Newt is looking to get elected, he is going to say what ever he thinks is going to energize what ever base he imagines he has.

If one listen only to what you posted, there's no question that he changed his opinion. If you listen to both segments in their entirety, I'm not so sure.
