I was looking for something totally unrelated (Austin's enormous bat colony) when I stumbled across this site. Talk about BATS!! It just goes to show you that not all the flakes live on the Left Coast! Your weird site is a bit more colorful than my weird site, but you can appreciate it I am sure. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2103. As I visited your link I thought of this place here in Kansas, that I have visited. It makes me wonder what was in the air or water that caused these guys to start sculpting their concrete visions. I really was not fond of the Garden of Eden, which is the site here in Kansas, but the "artist" and political commentator did some wonderful wood work marquetry and parquetry.I just did not understand how you went from bats to Pasaquan. There is some place in Arkansas that I would like to see where a house was built all of discarded bottles and pretty stones set in concrete. I do not know its name, but I bet it is on the roadsiedamerica site as well.

Simple! Both sites--the bats in Austin& the batty guy were roadsideamerica sites. They had an inset in the bat colony site about the "batty" guy!" I'm not sure if that was an intentional connection or not, but it begs to be called appropriate, don't you think? I've seen houses made with bottles, & with aluminum cans, too. They are interesting. I'm going to have to look up the "Garden of Eden" in Kansas, however; it's new to me. I'll go see "your" weird site while I'm at it. I love finding unusual places. Elic has been to the Oregon Vortex. Hmm. I can't say I'm crazy about the "Garden of Eden," either, but it's just as loony in its own way as "my" site--which, by the way, is apparently their "site of the week," & there's a link on "your" weird site to it, as well! I think the Arkansas site might be the Quigley Castle, or maybe not. I know we went with my dad's family on a trip and there was not enough money for us all to go in, or something. I was just a kid. This has been a fun site to discover, though.

Wow, what a freak. He is kind of cool though in his own weird way. His artwork is kind of interesting and unique. No, I never believed that all the weirdos habitated in any one particular area. We have our fair share of them right here in New England. Thanks for sharing that, Maggiepie!
