Bush vs. Obama

March 27, 2011 2:58pm CST
I have to say I am a Republican. And even tho I will probably get backlash for this next comment, Ill say it anyway. I liked Bush, I voted for him in both elections. I think people come down on him too hard. After 9/11 he did the only thing he could, and that was to respond. As far as iraq, everyone in 2001 thought that Sadaam had weapons of mass destruction, and even tho he didnt I think the world is a safer place with him gone. Unemployment was down. Our national debt was raised but thats the cost of war, yeah? Would you rather have had Bush do nothing after 9/11 to keep our national debt under control? Now for Obama, I did not vote for him and was a harsh critic of him the 1st year of his presidency. I do not agree with the health care bill, i find it to be unconstitutional to force americans to buy ANY product. I also do not agree with the government being in control of 51% of our economy. With that being said. I watch the dow soar, I see the new policies he enacted for finacial reform, and now the unemployment rate is begining to fall. He has a long road ahead of him, but my logical brain says "hey something he is doing must be working" i would love to hear your opinions on both Obama and Bush. I am open to new ideas!

I would say both are the same. As long as american government is considered, it feels as if its the only country in the world. Anything that seem to threten them, i.e, not only in a negative sense but also in a positive sense, they put that down. About 9/11 , well its already proven that its a inhouse work. Invasion in iraq, under tge title of WMD, what right has america have to do that, in that case , the whole world will have to invade US ,since its got more wepons of MASS destruction. America names a person or a country as a thret if they do not coperate with the US. Take iran, if they have nuclear energy, what is the problem with US? And theres one interesting thing i have notice thru out the years which i will tell later. Remind u, its not the people but the gov who is giving black dots to US. I just dont know how these guys change into such brutal beings when they step into the gov?!

9/11 was not proven to inhouse you are refering to antigoverment conspirecy throiest. as far as WMDs the Whold World was in agreement. the UN intended to invade, the problen is that the UN kept making empty threats with new deadlines. The US along with a Coalition of 38 other countries went in to Iraq. if you think Iran wants nucular power for energy only your sadly mistaken. they want to distroy Isreal thoes words came out of the mouth of ahmadinejad. as far as nucular powers and WMDs India is up there. by the way the WMDS THAT THE WORLD WAS TALKING ABOUT ARE CHEMICAL WEAPONS such as the ones sadam used in 1988 to kill 3200-5000 Iraqi citizens

first, what Isrel is doing is defending their country, the land that the palestians are fighting over belongs to Iseral. Iseral has conceded some of it to Palenstine in peace effords but the Palenstinans want more, they don't believe the Isrealies should be there at all. much like India and Pakastasn fighting over Kashmir. second, why should and leader kill people for fun? that is what Sadam did. remember it was not just the US there were 38 other countries and the UN who agreed that Sadam, the war criminal had to go. Iran is one country they want to eliminate another country, wipe it from the map, extingush the race completly.

Yes, i dont support sadam in anyway, but does this makes US so different, after all the iraqi civillians they are killing? How is it that US can destroy any country, but some other country such as iran cannot? I am not supporting either one, but , what israel is doing in palestine is without doubts inhuman and completely breaking of all laws. And the US supports such an act and stops someone who tries to end it all. What would u feel if someone so close to u is being tortured in front of u and u cant do anything since u r being withhele by someone else????

Don't give Obama credit for healing anything about this economy. He doesn't understand economics or business at all. Have you ever read about the depression of 1920? (No, not the crash of 29 and the Great Depression, the one in 1920.) In less than 2 years, we went from a full depression to having less than 2% unemployment. Why? Because the president reduced the government, reduced spending and reduced taxes. That worked and would have worked again with the recession we had. When the Great Depression started, government intervention kept us in that downturn for a long tim. That's what happenes when the government grows and when they raise taxes on businesses and the rich. If there is any business growth today it's because businesses are hopeful that Obamacare will be defunded and repealed and because the Bush tax cuts were extended for another year. And that was certainly not Obama's doing. His new budget asks for raising taxes on big and small businesses. If that would happen, we could expect things to get worse again. I'm sorry. I do not see Obama doing anything to help our country. I don't think that's his agenda. Rather, he wants to bring us down so that we have nothing left to fight when the new world order takes over. Conspiracy nut? No. I'm just watching the signs.

I see your point of view and I have to say that it makes sense. I agree with the bush tax cuts 100%. Most people think that we should raise the taxes on the most wealthy of our country and I dont see how this makes sense to them. These people are the ones who are creating jobs and pursuing innovation in our country. I was not aware of the recession of 1920, however i will research it to better educate myself. but what you said makes sense, reduce government and sreduce spending seems like the rational thing to do in such a situation. Our government being in control of the finacial district (student loans) the insurance industry. this is not right. Our country was built on the principle of By the People For the People, and you dont see that attitude much more in washington. what are your thoughts on the upcoming election (presidential) do you see any candidates you feel are front runners? What do you think about Sarah Palin?

I think people forget that when it came to Bush and many things it was what the people had wanted and when reality struck they where sorry. Many couldn't wait to go after Bin Laden and other Middle Eastern terrorist. What they didn't realize was what that really meant and they where mad at reality. I think Bush put forward some good things that were not defined enough. No child left behind had good intentions and in truth would have worked if the school systems stopped teaching to pass the tests so that they would have better ratings instead of just teaching the kids what they need to know. He was or I would say is a terrible speaker. His administration had a habit of not doing enough. Always good intentions yet never quite meeting them a fault for sure. As for Obama I did not vote for him. I do not like the forcing of American people to purchase anything that so many cannot afford. I do not believe because some one makes more money they should pay a higher percentage of taxes and I do not like that he (like Bush) panders to the oil companies as well as the unions and banking communities. The bail outs make me sick. The double talk is so prolific as to make my head spin at all times. Unemployment has not changed. The numbers have changed because they are no longer extending the Unemployment benefits. The numbers reflect those on unemployment not the actual amount of people who are out of work. That makes a big difference. Obama is a good speaker and I believe it has helped in in many ways. I like that he has goals for more renewable energies and has implemented them at the White house (though many forget Bush did this as well) as well as the example set by him and his wife by bring back the White House kitchen gardens. Sadly I think we have not found that "great" President that will come in and shake everything up. The last three have done so much that has either embarrassed or hurt our nation in various ways that it would be a breath of fresh air to have one we could all stand behind.

Although I am not a citizen of the United States, I hope you do not mind if I give a comment on your writing. I think BUSH and OBAMA is 2 figure of the President who have ambition to go to war with in the name of PEACE. They are a figure of a president who was blind eyes and their hearts. They are would rather do slaughter other people in order to achieve their idealistic goals. They would rather see the people of Iraq and Libya divided and kill each other just to get the oil fields of Iraq and Libia

Well, there u go, thats the truth. The whole world knows this. But the gov of the world r scared to do something. This is where the common people take up actions and take control, as its happening in the middle east now. Comon guys wake up from ur sleep, and think about the real truth, study and understand them. US gov is a gov that uses "PEACE" AND "TERRORISM" as the best wepons of mass destruction. When i say US i mean the gov and not the whole people out there, because i know not all the people think like their gov.

i feel there was great expectation from obama who is considered as an excellent parlimentarian or leader. but no body find such activities which we feel that he did an excellent job. but he done a better job when compared with bush. one thing i feel that obama have good administrative skills but he need to implement those plans in a more effective manner.
