My two-year-old son likes to eat raw veggies, every time when I am preparing for meal, when I am cutting veggies, he always likes to take some to eat. I know some of the raw veggies are okay to eat, such as carrot, cabbage, celeries, tomato. But, there are some veggies I never try when they are raw, especially those with green leaves. I am not sure if this is okay for health, especially for kids.

Hello kaka. You are so lucky that your son is eating vegetables. A lot of kids will not eat any cooked or raw. The only problem that I see with letting your son eat leafy vegetable is that he might see something like them in the yard or house plant and decide it is ok to eat it. Otherwise the green leafy vegetables is what is in salads and are full of vitamin K. Maybe teach him to only eat them if you give them to him.

Yeah, I am happy that he likes to eat fruits and veggies too. I always explain to my son what is eatable and what is not, though he likes to put things into his mouth. Thanks for your response. ^_^

They are fine be they a little bitter but they will not hurt anyone. Too many may cause some gas or loose stool but that would be the worst of it. I think you should encourage your child to try new healthy items. Being adventurous in your eating habits is a good thing.

I always tried when my son wanted to eat, I find the veggies taste quite nice actually. I always try to introduce new food and recipes to my son, so that he won't get bored in the same food all the time. I am glad he always like them too, but sometimes I'm running out of ideas. Thanks for your response. ^_^

Yes me too. I have a rule that when we eat out at some place like a buffet or something that they have to try something new. The result is a 9 year old who loves sushi and hummus (not together) an 11 year old who thinks wild game is all the rage and a 5 year old who loves craw-daddies.

I also think veggies is good for health, and I do like eating veggies. My son does eat some veggies when they are cooked too, but I think some leafy veggies is a bit difficult for him to chew and swallow, so he does spit out the veggies after he chewed it. My son likes crunchy food, and I think that's why he likes to eat the raw veggies. Thanks for your response. ^_^

At two many kids put everything in their mouths, some can be dangerous so I would make rules that nothing goes in the mouth without parental permission. It takes close supervision to keep this rule, but that is the price of having a two year old.

I always try not to restrict my son too much, though my son always likes to put things into his mouth too. I always try to explain to him, as something can be dangerous and poisonous too. That's why I always have to keep an eye on him. Thanks for your response. ^_^

Most veggies are good to eat raw. Some may taste better cooked though. I guess it is a personal choice. If you like raw veggies and your kids are old enough to eat them, let them.

I am not sure. But here we don't get used to eat the raw veggies. We must boil it or cook it until it's well done. I wonder whether babies can digest the raw veggies well enough because they are just so little. I love China

As long as the food is washed well it shouldn't be a problem after all humans ate raw veggies many, many years before fire came along. Yes some things taste better cooked but food in it's natural condition is a lot healthier. Sometimes cooking, especially if you cook it too long kills some of the vitamins and minerals. He's probably getting the maximum benefits of the nutrients by eating it raw and unprocessed.

i am no expert but i guess it is better to boil it a little before he eats it. i see expert put the veggies in boiling ater then after a few seconds they will put it in a bowl of cold water. as they explain you will boil to cook it a little and soak in cold water so it will still be crunchy. i guess people do it raw tomatoes so thats okay. i dont eat raw tomatoes too. but the other veggies you mentioned needs to be cooked a little. just my opinion.

Hello my friend kaka135 Ji, Well, I think Your son is an extra-ordinary person. Probably, you too mighty be eating during his carrying. We eat lady-fingers/Bitter Gourd and salad-leaves as well. Even chillies can be taken. But everything as per one's age. But everything should be well washed. What about grame seeds. Thanks. May God bless You and have a great time.

As long as the raw veggies that your son is eating have been cleaned through then I don't think that there should be any problem at all with eating raw vegetables. I often have a hard time getting my children to eat cooked vegetables so I will clean some raw vegetables for them and make them some ranch dipping sauce and that way they will eat their vegetables. In fact, I think that raw veggies have more vitamins in them than cooked ones do.

No it's not good i think. Specially cabbage is not good for health it's need cook very well. Otherwise it has bad effect in brain. But you can serve carrot or tomato. Both foods are very good for health and skin. Have a good time!

I think all vegetables are good for children. However, you should clean them carefully before kids eat them.

I think that they are good for kids as long as they have been washed thoroughly. I always make sure to wash my fruits and vegetables before I put them away, and before I serve them. It is great that you soon enjoys raw veggies because all to often it is a struggle for most parents to get their child to eat any veggies at all like mine lol. My husband will only eat veggies raw. He won't eat them cooked in any kind of manner.

You bet it is! Carrots are a great snack for kids. I used to dig baby carrots out of the garden and brush most of the dirt off and eat them right there. A bite of raw potatoe is pretty tasty too. Peas are delicious right off the vine. Those with green leaves? Not sure what those would be. Those with green outer skin aren't great unless you bite into it and get the rhine off.

Hi, it is good to have children like to eat vegetables but for young kids, it is best not to eat raw vegetables too much as some may not suitable to their stomach which may lead to stomach upset. It is best to boil the vegetable before serving to them. For my son, he loves to eat vegetables and I only serve him raw tomatoes. As for cabbage, carrot, celeries and other kind of vegetables, I also make sure they are cooked before giving him.
