Seven & nine year old boys rape a two year old girl.

I read this in the newspaper yesterday & it just blew my mind. It happened in Memphis, Tn. I just can't imagine two little boys doing something that bad. Where in the world are there parents & what kind of homelife could they have to be acting like that. Of course they took them out of the home & today the parents were kicking u about that. They should have arrested the parents for raising such awful kids. Do u think parents are responsible for their children's actions?? I always felt responsible for the way my sons acted, good or bad. Do u or did u feel that way when your children were young?

This is really disgusting! How come that the boys have known how to rape a girl at that younger age. The parents should be the ones responsible for the values of their children. Or the parents are not careful enough when they do their thing. I don't know what have really come up with the boys. Parents should not be neglecting their duties to raise their children correctly. And they should be wary with what internet sites their children are surfing.

Good point. I was thinking about the influence television and movies have on them, but the internet is a great point as well.

Children that age do not normally think that way. They were shown, either in videos or interent OR by the adults themselves. I think they were most likely abused themselves, to have that idea in their heads.

So incredibly disturbing! There are so many reasons this is bad. I mean how did children that young even know how to do the act and to that be able to. I only have girls but that seems quite young to me. Is the baby OK? I mean a child that a young could easily have eternal damage. As for the parents they should lose their kids. These are not teenagers who have basic sense of right and wrong at age seven it is the parents job to be teaching that. Not to mention why where children ages seven and nine allowed out by themselves long enough to be able to preform such an act and where was the baby's mother because let's face it a two year should not have been left alone with kids that age or allowed to wander alone as well.

Those kids were old enough to know right from wrong. Not only should their parents be punished, but those kids should be sent to a juvenile housing until they are eighteen. I don't care that they are seven and nine. They knew better.

Certainly counseling and therapy. But they can and do get that when put in a juvenile facility. I wouldn't want them to be released at 18 with no change in behavior. I get so upset when these stories come out because I know two little girls who suffered like this. And I knew the boy who did it. He was young, but knew exactly what he was doing. And it didn't stop him.

Ambiepam, my thoughts is that some form of counseling/treatment too because they are so young and what will happen when they get older. This is quite sad that they learn such bad things at an early age. You are right because the child they hurt is an innocent victim who perhaps will be affected.

tHANKS FOR ALL YOUR RESPONSES, AMBIE. They sure do need to be gotten out of the home they are in. The little girl needs to be taken out of her home to. Why would a parents leave a toddler to themselves long enough for something like that to happen. I hope they punish all the parents to. They are not fit to be parents!!!

There is evil in the world and we let it in our homes through the TV and DVD. I'm not saying this was the only reason. The parents had something to do with it too. By example or by abusing these two little boys themselves. It is so sad and it shows that the time is short until Jesus comes.

Thanks for your response. I think the parents had alot to do w/it myself. Granted they see too much on tv etc. but they have to have a good example set at home. I don't believe these children did.

That is absolutely horrible! I cannot even begin to comprehend how such young children could even know how to do such a thing! I have a 9 year old son at the moment and I could never imagine him doing anything like this at his current age. These children obviously have grown up in a harsh environment in which they lost their innocence a long time ago. It is impossible to not blame the parents for this event. Even though they are not directly responsible for the crime, they are quite clearly not fit parents if their children are doing this!

Thanks for responding, Bill. It sure is a horrible thing. I feel the same way u do. I can't imagine my grandson having the thought to do such a horrible thing. There is something big time wrong in the way these boys are being brought up.

This is so sad. When did children stop being children and become victims and predators instead? Children should have a childhood. Where are the role models that led these children to where they are today?

Wow!! This is totally unreal. There is no way that kids this young can be doing something like this to a younger child without being influenced in some way and having had it done to them. 7 & 9 yr. old boys have no idea of what this is, and if it is wrong or right unless taught somehow. I personally hope that the state does some investigating on the parents and friends of the parents and holds some of them responsible for these actions as well.

This is insane! Do the kids understand what they are doing? I do agree with you, parents are responsible. Whenever I see a kid not behaving good, I always think it's because of the parents. It's their responsibility of teaching the kids, and most of the time, kids are following what the adults are doing. I still can't imagine how the two boys could do that, and did that to a 2 year old girl. It's so crazy!!

i really am saddened by this. These boys should be playing toy cars. I dont know how in the world could they get the idea of doing this to a fellow child. maybe the tv shows or movies that they saw were not screened by their parents. very sad news indeed.

The boys and the parents need to be held accountable in this case. Where were the parents of this little girl? Why did they not check on her for such a length of time? I really do not understand how boys of this age could physically have done anything to her unless they used objects and where did they learn such a thing? The horror that poor girl lived through and no one cared enough to check on her. Sad news!

there is no possible way those kids that young could have known what they were doing without having seen something they shouldnt have, what kind of parents lets their kids that young learn these things? unless some kind of abuse is going on. and the authorities need to look into how they are getting this stuff in their heads. somethings not right in their homes.

I agree with Debra, these kids learned that behaviour somewhere - either access to something or because they have been abused themselves. When young children do really bad things such as this it is because they have been exposed to bad things themselves. It doesn't excuse it at all, that poor toddler, but the adults around them should be held responsible too.

I can't fathom something like this where small children would even know what they are doing. Oh my goodness where would they have picked this up and how, oh Antiquelady this too hard to even discuss. I do agree though that there was no proper supervision and one can only suspect that the parents were not watching the children appropriately.

Sounds like they've been watcing some TV and movies their eyes had no business seeing. Not to mention how other kids influence each other. At seven and nine they knew what they were doing was wrong. A five year old would know that was wrong. I am so disgusted with their parents and with those kids.

My goodness! What a shocking story indeed! The fact that the boys are too young to even thinking of raping someone let alone a very young, 2 yr old girl to be a victim of their crimes. Whatever happened to raising a fine young lads. Where are their parents. If you could post more info about the case and investigations, it will be most welcome.

OMG! I can't believe that! I have so many questions in my mind right now, the same as with you, why it happened, where are the parents and what is the reason why they do that. I think that since the person involved are minors, the parents are the primary responsible for the actions of their children. If they carefully watched their kids, teach them what is right or wrong maybe this they will not be able to that. When the parents become so busy working, they tend to neglect their children. The parents just so engrossed providing the financial needs of their children, they forgot that their children needs them more. As a parent we all have a responsibility, to our children and to the community where we live.

Thanks for responding,Ellan. I don't think any parent is too busy to teach their children right from wrong. I raised both my boys alone & worked like an idiot to make a living for us but they were taught right from wrong. Granted they were not perfect but THANK GOD they never did anything as bad as this. Is it a parent's responsibilty one these parents didn't take on undoubtedly.

Hi AL~ I had not heard this disgusting story! I don't know what would make such young boys do something so terrible. And I can't imagine what kind of parents they have and where they could possibly be when these children where doing this. The parents would definitely be arrested if it happened in most states. I'm sure they would have been arrested if it happened here in NY!

What a horrible news. Aren't these kids supposed to be in school or if not playing outside with other kids? It's so sad these kids won't have any future. I don't have kids but I think their parents lack responsibility in the way these kids are brought up, definitely shows they were not guided properly. I feel bad too for the girl, at her tender age she has this terrifying experience already. Oh my, what ever happened to a child's innocence these days I guess it's diminishing already.
