When you help others, give the right information

Hi all:
I have seen the wrong information posted, which in turn will just confuse the ones needing help. We all have to be careful when we give out information, that it is the right information. The best thing we can do, is red the faq's and guidelines, and understand what they say. I like to post the link to the faq's and guidelines so they can read them and understand what say. It is each of our responsibility to read them and be able to help others when they ask for it.Let us all work together to help keep mylot the good site that it already is.Everyone take care, and happy mylotting.

I do not try to post half cooked information about mylot. If I know with certainity then only I share with others.

In real life too, if I do not have complete information, I refrain from sharing half baked information. If I at all tell something, I ask the other fellow to cross check with others.

It is really good that you don't give half baked information. It is better to give it all, then give part of it and be wrong. If I am not sure, then I won't bother trying to help them, as I just don't want to confuse them anymore than they already are. Thank you for responding, and happy mylotting.

hi Rosekiss,
every time it is difficult to read FAQ,mostly what ever in my mind i will put it as discussion in mylot,there are lot of FAQ in every site,can you say that ,you have read all the terms and conditions of the sites,mostly every site have these types of terms and conditions for their sites,have a nice day

I always try to provide information, responses, discussion of truth, and in accordance with reality. I want to help, and I also often expect help. I do not like, people giving wrong information to me, so I will not give wrong information to others.

I couldn't agree with you more. Giving the wrong information doesn't help anyone at all as it just confuses them and everyone else. The thing of it is, the ones giving the false information are the ones that never read the faq's and guidelines so that they would know the correct answers to to the questions being asked. If I can't give the proper information, then I won't give any information. Thank you for responding and happy mylotting.

True... there are many - mostly new users who consider mylot as just another money making site - running around and responding anything and everything without putting much of an effort or concern about the value of the response....
We should always make sure that we respond to questions that we are confident to be conveying the right information...
Such careless participation does affect the reliability of responses in mylot and thereby the reputation of this website...
But I believe mylot is in safe hands - as the experienced mylotters always follow these guidelines and make sure that each and every response they make is useful/valuable.

I agree with you, that some will just give an answer whether it is right or wrong. I just feel that we all need to give the right information as when we give the wrong information, it helps no one at all. When people ask for help in here, it is because they don't know and that is why they are asking, and it is our responsibility to help them whenever we can, but make sure we have the right answer, or don't give any answer at all. Yes i try my best to give the correct answer when some one ask for me for any help. I know they do trust us and ask for help so it's our responsibility to help them in correct them and should help. I don't know about others but when ever any one ask me for any things i always give them correct answer and if i am unknown then don't tell anything about the matter.

I do the same thing, as it is better not to say anything than give them the wrong information. I have seen different ones think they are helping, but they end up confusing those needing help, as they more or less guess what the information is, and not really read the faq's and guidelines to get the information that others are seeing. I will help them by posting thelinks in my response to the faq's and guidelines, in holpe they will read them and get the information there. Thank you for responding and happy mylotting.

I feel that it is my responsibility to help others along the way, as I was helped when I started out, and I want to return the favor. We all need to keep mylot the site it is today. I am glad I am a part of it. Thank you for responding, and happy mylotting.

Yes, we should help each other, as that is what mylit is all about. I try to help whenever I can, but I do make sure I give the correct information so as not to confuse anyone, especially the new members starting out. Thank you fot responding, ans happy mylotting.
