There are happening in our lives that we can't see the good side of it, and they were traumatic. If we see the good sides, who were benefited by it, and how we became a better person we then comprehend, accept and let go. How does someone get over the past? Share your secret.

Some experiences that we have leave an indelible mark upon our subconscious minds and effects our reactions to everything else that happens. Forget the past? Impossible!

Hi katie: For some people this is a long process but I think that the first step is forgiving and to be decided to forget because if you look to the negative events of the past this will affect you. If you don't want to suffer for something you can't change you should stop thinking about it. Sometimes is not that easy and people need to look for help to get over it. ALVARO

I elude my past by not thinking of them anymore. I avoid the people that are part of it. I don't watch movies or shows that may remind me of my past mistakes. Most of all, i pray for God to help me get over it completely.

i dont think its a case of getting over it cos when something happens in our lives be it bad or good you can never get over it. its more of a case of accepting that these things happen and moving on and learning to live with it

Getting over your past and letting it go is a hard thing to do for most people. We really have to want to move on, and I think we can. If we make the decision and are confident with it, I think most of us will move on. A lot of traumatic events just take time and sometimes outside help which is very hard for a lot of people to seek. In time, most people do accept and move on...thanks to human nature.

Let it go, focus on the present. It really doesn't do much good to go over things from the past over and over again. Just ignore the thoughts at first, then you'll be able to just shrug off thoughts with ease soon enough.
