7 pillow cases, embroidered, each for one day of the week.

Remember the towels that had a day of the week on them? So you knew to change them every day? Some of you may not and that's OK. Someone told me that he puts a new pillow case on his girlfriend's pillow every night. He found out that dust mites might be part of the problem with his girlfriend's rosacea. Since he started putting a new pillow case on every night, she has not been having the night flare ups that she used to. I tried it for a little while, but all my pillow cases look the same and I forgot after a while. Then I thought of the towels with different days of the week embroidered on each one. That would help. Now, what colors to embroider them? Blue Monday comes to mind, I think from a song, but nothing else for the rest of the days of the week. So what colors would you use for the different days of the week and why?

That sounds like a good idea. From dark to light. White on white can be pretty. Cream on white might be a little easier to see or beige. I like all the colors you chose. Sounds like fun. Thanks and take care.

I would do all the colors of the rainbow, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, indigo. I find the idea interesting, and may pursue it. I do not, to my knowledge, have rosacea, but I did feel like, earlier this year, that I had some breakouts that just would not heal. I did start changing the pillowcases more often and it helped. I connected it because the worst sites are on the side of my face where I sleep. I was just thinking in terms of cleanliness, as I do not use the same wash cloth every night. I also find that swimming at the Y, using the hot tub and sauna helped. I do not know if it is the chemicals they treat the water with, the steam or the sweating in the sauna, I just know it is beneficial.

I think I got it wrong, Indigo goes between blue and violet or purple. I would say it is like a purple toned Navy blue. The only reason I wondered about the rosacea is because I tend toward a very red complexion, and because the last time I had a physical, long time ago, the doctor offered me "some medicine for your face". My face used to get worse in the summer, but last year it was really clear, so I do not know what is going on. It got really nice a month or so ago, then I got busy and quit taking supplements. Not sure which ones I was taking were helpful, so I have to go back and try some more. It also seemed to like grape seed oil as a moisturizer

I had pre-rosacea for many years. Grape seed oil, good to know about!

Oh I like your color choices. Indigo, is that like a blue-black? I don't think you have rosacea either. Usually heat makes rosacea worse. There are the odd person that cold makes it worse, but not heat. Hormones and clogged oil glands respond to heat sometimes. Yes, I think changing pillow cases every day does help with cleanliness and probably a wide variety of problems. Thanks and take care.

Sunny yellow for Sunday? You have Monday, but you could just go with the names. If you did that then you could wash them all at the end of the week and your sheets and start again - thus not worrying about wasting water like the first poster....

Sadly, we are not in a drought, so much rain that we are flooding, BUT living on a small Island, we are all dependent on wells! I have huge storage, 10,300 gallons worth..but summer will arrive...the well water wanes (a lot due to summer traffic--Island visitors) and I have to rely on my storage for myself, visitors....and most important..Gardens (edible)!

They're in a drought. We're flooding. I'm not worried about water, but I am trying to keep electricity down. Yes, a few more pillow cases with the sheets shouldn't be too much of a problem.

For me...it would be a flower, starting with the letter of the day of the week....so I am not of much help here! Possibly your favourite colors for your favourite days of the week. With a water shortage, I cannot allow myself that luxury..and all smaller items I wash by water so that I may re-cycle the water in summer! Cheers!

And for the "S's"........one of my favourite flowers that comes to mind for Saturday....would be "Salpiglossis" aka; painted tongue or Velvet trumpet flower....it's a beauty that comes in a myriad of colors, and seems to have a flourescence to it when kissed my a certain angle of sunlight! AND, what would more more appropriate for SUNDAY---than the gorgeous, most versatile sunflower, that gives needed nourishment to us, and Mother Nature's creatures! There are many, many E-bikes on the market, they are coming of age, I just happened to get VERY lucky, with mine....it is a Kaishan, and has been relatively trouble free except for some problems with pot metal! I have had mine for nearly 3 years, and am now just facing having to replace the batteries...IT is USED every single day...except for one, this winter, when the snow was tooo deep and I was just unsure riding it! If you are not familiar with Salpiglossis...just for "eye-candy", search this beauty out! Have a wonderful day...must get off to work, now!

I would do something like this: Sunday-Orange because we usually have afternoon brunch with O.J. Monday-Pink because I dislike Mondays and need my favorite color to see me through. Tuesday-Yellow because I need something sunny to see me through Wedsnesday-Teal cause I am looking for Thursday and Friday to get here. Thursday-Purple because I get so excited that I could turn purple. Friday-Green cause it is my favorite color and day. Saturday-Blue because I tend to see alot more sky on Saturday.

Neat, I like how you did that. I would have never thought of any of those except for yellow and sunny. You like Fridays the best, interesting. Thanks and take care.

I will try this again. Yesterday I couldn't post my responses. Am way behind now. I always liked Fridays when I was working. Now anyday is a good day. Never likes Sundays.

If you embroider colors then you will have to think and remember what each one means and that maybe a bit forgetful with time. I probably would embroider the actual day of the week to each pillow case. Which then remind me to switch them.

That's what I'm going to do. But I don't want the color for each day of the week to be the same. That way, I'll know at a glance without having to get up close to read them wtihout my glasses. Sorry I wasn't very clear to start with.

When I was 8 I did my first weekday embroidered dish towel set! Then I moved on to pillowcases. Cross stitch! Then at about 13 I did a set of pillowcases for each family (mom had 5 siblings!) and not a single aunt/uncle made the slightest comment about them. Even if they didn't like them, a little kid did alot of work and was so proud of herself...couldn't htey have lied and said they liked them and how good a job I did? We lived 2 hours away so there was no way I'd ever known the diff, but it sure did hurt me bad when they showed they didn't even care. I never did for them anything like that again! But I would like to do them again for my grand kids, but I can't find them in the stores...has to be printed...can't do counted.

Anyone have a place where you can buy the weekday towels or even the pillowcases...with STAMPED cross stitch, not counted?

Mary Maxim, I think most of their stuff is printed for embroidery and cross stitch.

I don't change my pillowcases every night either...if I had an issue like that lady I would give it a shot though. Blue is perfect for Monday! I am not sure about the rest of the week...hmmm....green for Thursday because that is the day I am paid on Yellow for Saturday because it reminds me of the sun...Saturday would normally represent a day off which would outside in the sun if I had my way about it...multi colored for Sunday..that's the day I would like to paint. Other than that..I'm not sure.

I never thought of the dust mites needing to be rid of every night! I change the sheets every three days for the sake of our allergies. Well in the Thai tradition the days have their own colors. Sunday - red Monday - yellow Tuesday - pink Wednesday - green Thursday - orange Friday - blue Saturday - purple

That's neat that in Thai tradition the days have their own colors. Here we assign whatever whenever. Yeah, I never thought about the dust mites for rosacea, etiher. Thanks and atke care.
