I have a big domestic long hair male cat. And yes he is neutered and stays in the house. I also have two small dogs. My cat and dogs have evidently never heard about cat and dog rivallry, because they love each other. The three of them are like brothers. The cat plays ball with the younger dog. Both dogs like tussling with the cat--they roll him around in the hallway and have lots of fun without hurting each other. The cat's name is M and the dogs names are Ralff( he's 19 now and showing his age) and Vergyll. I am so glad that they all get along. Have any of you had problems with your animals getting along?

That is cute. it's very unusual for cats and dogs to get along. even dogs sometime don't get along with other dogs. let alone cats and dogs. but I have seen such situations on animal planet. where the dogs are playing with the cats and getting along so well with each other. your cat and dogs must really be trained for them not to fight and hate each other. your a good pet owner.

I think cat and dog are both friendly to us. I raise one Alley Cat, it's yellow color, it seems it's a old age now. but I meet it on my way home usually, sometimes it will sit on the car to wait me. So i will bring it to my house and buy some foods for it.
It likes sleep on the sofa, although i am not it's master, i like it very much.
Hope people don't throw over their pets

some of my cats like the dogs, some of the cats HATE the dogs and most don't care either way, unless they get in their space
A few have come in afraid of the dogs, but our dogs know the cats are bosses so the ones who are afraid get over it.
Booboo is the most fond of the dogs, but only Zoe is that in love with the cats, Cujo doesn't want to mess with them, but poor Cujo is pretty afraid of a lot of things.
Funniest thing is that Zoe (female dog) tries to mount Booboo (male cat)!

hahaha...cute and nice pets..I have the same thing too. I have one cat and dog.whenever they goes to sleep my cat will lie down on top of my dog and will peacefully snaggle each other. They've been friends since my cat was just a kitten.

I have had experiences in the past where dogs and cats only looked at each other and the fight was on. I have also had experiences where dogs and cats got along famously and harmoniously with each other. I don't know if they know they shouldn't like each other or not. Animals can be as choosy in their friendships as humans can.

I have a cat and 2 dogs and they all get along great! It's hilarious watching them play. I got my cat as a tiny kitten and he was brought into a home with dogs and has never seen another cat. His traits are so dog-like. It's funny! He's clumsy compared to most cats and I think that's because he's more of a dog.

I have never had any problems with my cat and dog getting along. I have a cat and a dog but the cat is much bigger than the dog and dog alwasy plays with the cat and when cat gets and then cat starts to lick him and dog gets very mad but he will not hurt the cat :D atleast i have never seen that they hurt themselfes :D
