To tell you the truth, i was shocked, amazed and somewhat confused by the comment Jacob Lusk made before his performance of Michael Jacksons "Man In The Mirror" If i'm in the bottom 3 it won't be because i sang the song badly or sang it wrong, it will be because America didn't look at themselves in the mirror" What??? just what did he mean by that statement? that somehow we are ignorant or cowards and don't know a great singer when we hear one? or, can it mean something much more sinister, unfair and completely false?I will leave it up to others to decide just what was meant by that statement, aside from how arrogant and uncalled for it was. What i'd really like to know is, do you feel his comment will affect the votes in any way? do you think he just about put himself in the bottom 3 by making it? or, should the voters ignore his statement and just vote on his talent and vocal ability?

I know it didn't affect my vote!!! I think he just got caught up in the moment & said something stupid!!! Jacob is a talented singer & I think Idol had tried to give him the wrong song & one he couldn't feel comfortable singing. I believe he was simply trying to say that he had chosen to change his song so he could sing it with conviction!!! I believe his mouth simply got ahead of his brain & he didn't say what he was thinking!!!! I think people get confused with Idol as it is a "talent" contest NOT a popularity contest. I don't think Stefano deserves to win simply because he's the cutest (NOT my words) & I don't think Casey deserves to lose because he distorts his face when he sings (again NOT my words). And I certainly don't think Jacob should be punished for misspeaking. He has tons & tons of talent & that is what he should be judged on!!!!

Yes, i agree everyone should be judged on their talent and that is all. Unfortunately, this is not always the case and many times people do vote for the wrong reasons. After reading the comments on some of the entertainment websites, including Idol's a lot of people were pretty upset or angry at his statements, since whatever he might have meant by them, people took it as arrogance and or telling others how they should vote. As you mentioned this is a talent contest and Jacob is talented, you have to hope people will be voting for that reason alone. but as the previous years have shown, this does not always happen.

Well, he survived...even though he also thought he was going to be kicked off because of it!!! I am really upset that Pia was the one to go last night as she has tons & tone & tons of talent!!!! I often wonder what the American public is thinking???

Yes,i also think he felt he was going, you could see it in his face and i'm really surprised Ryan mentioned the comment Jacob had made previously, it was almost like telling him, "this is why you're in the bottom 3",i didn't think it was appropriate. I was also shocked to see Pia go,she's so talented, but, to tell you the truth, i've stopped trying to figure out how and for what reason people vote or not vote, since i've been watching Idol since it's beginnings and the only 2 performers i agreed should have won were Kelly Clarkson and Fantasia. I was glad to see Stefano stay,i know, i know, people find him boring,(i don't know why) he does have wonderful vocal talent and with a little more stage presence i think he can go far.

jujunme hi when someone downrates my country it makes me hopping mad so I would think his stupid remark would affect the voting for him as this is held in America by Americans and I think a lot of fellow Americans feel like I do, bash my country one more time, and I will bash your teeth with my fist, figuratively speaking that is.yes it will affect the vote but being America is he has real talent he still might get a high vote. I know I would not vote for him

Hi Hatley: Yes, he does have real talent but,as i mentioned above, good or bad, people will judge you on the things you say as well as your abilities and the comment he made was not only shocking,it was a direct insult to the American public as well. Frankly speaking, i still have no idea exactly what he meant by is statement, but, whatever it was, it was wrong and insulting and he sort of paid the price by being placed in the bottom 3 of the voting and i do agree, because of it, i wouldn't vote for him either, no matter how much talent he has.Americans aren't stupid or blind and for him to intimate we might be, is truly insulting and way out of line.

I think that comment did out him in the bottom 3... I didn't like the comment at all, he didn't really have to say that since it may be offensive to some people. Hope he'd be more careful in what he says from now on.

It's a good thing that Jimmy (was it Jimmy?) told him not to do it again..(preaching and all that He did seem a bit apologetic and didn't say that much, and I his performance was really great yesterday.

Yes, it was Jimmy? and i just loved his candor and i think Jeremy got the message. There is no doubt Jeremy has loads of talent and he did do a great job last night,Plus, tonight he wasn't in the bottom 3 so i guess America is willing to put his statement behind them and be fair enough to vote for performance and not hold a grudge for an unfortunate statement.

I agree and whatever he meant by that statement,it was still very uncalled for and insulting to the American public and yet he offered no apology for it at all, even though it was brought up once again last night. He has to realize that what you say will affect the voting, just as much as your talent will and hopefully he now understands this by being in the bottom 3 last week.
