Why is the category Philippines split in two?

My mylot heading now shows two Philippines, one with the flag and the other with the map, Mayon and the tarsier. I had not noticed when this started but I am sure I added the flashing map, Mayon and tarsier as my category of interest. Is there a way of merging these two? The Filipinos, I am sure, wouldn't want their loyalty torn in two. I hope not any one of you guys divided the Philippines for leaderboard purposes. If that is, I am really disgusted.

I'm not really sure which was created first but I think it's the one with the tarsier, I used a tarsier as my avatar when I was new to this site but other find it too hideous so I changed it. The main reason why there are 2 Philippines topic in this site is maybe because of the leader board but I guess nothing beats the original but still any discussions in both topics are being responded on so I don't think the creator of the copy cat succeeded.

Can we merge the two? So we can have one Philippines? United we stand, divided we fall...

If the merger happens that would be a first on mylot. But first we have to know who created the latest and ask him to request admin if what you're suggesting is possible.

hbi eileenleyva its my understanding that we c an add interests so evidently two speparate filippinos both added a filippino interest as if one were not enough. I have always wondered why people add interest s that are already here. if one is to add an interest why not make it a new one as there are interests alreadyc here and that makes a lot of confusion., why not blend the two philippines interests into one interest instead.that would make more sense for all concerned.ask mylot about merging them into one.

Yes, Hatley, that is a very logical explanation. That is what I will tell mylot. I really hope we Filipinos could get our act together.

people start different interests, obviously you have added both of them, its not like its really 2 interests, its just that its been added 2 different times...

I am not really aware of the real deal as to why there are two but I never really took it the way you suspect. I think though that they are just duplicates. Perhaps somebody created the other interest/category thinking that there is no such existing category yet. I also added "Bohol" once only to find out later that there already is an existing one.

But Theresa, the Filipinos are all over mylot. The elections last year created so many posts. Surely the newbies would have noticed that the category Philippines has quite a following.

Hi I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. Does this mean that Filipinos even on mylot are divided. Maybe it was not done on purpose. Let's get united. Maybe we can start on social networks. Who knows it could being a nation so divided together. I pray.

Yes, I wish there is a way we could get united here in mylot. Can't help but think about crab mentality. Hmmm, I do feel bad about this.

I noticed that too but I never paid attention to it since it caters to the same audience and made with the same purpose. However, this community has more responders and discussion compared to the other. I guess some other user created that community without knowing that there is a pre-existing one. I don't know if there is a chance or method to merge the two but it's too drastic, in my opinion, to assume that two same communities of the same interest is reflective of loyalty or allegiance in any form.
