well, when i came to the INTERNET world, Internet explorer was the only browser that i ever knew. i loved it, till i came across Mozilla Firefox. It was very fast and the interface was totally new to me when i started using it. It was good all those days.. But know, i really hate it.. it just eats my physical memory ! 100,000Kb for a single tab !!! i'm seriously disappointed with this now..The above memory is for a single tab and think the memory it'l use for 5 or 6 tabs at a time! Also it take so long for starting up ! It feels like ages.. The speed is also not that much remarkable like it was used to be.. now,i have switched to opera.. whats ur opinion about firefox now?

I have FF 4 on my computer now but I rarely use it because it is slower than the latest version of IE and it also crashes very often which IE rarely does. This latest version of FF seems to be worse than earler versions not better despite all of the hype put out about it.

i agree with you that this firefox 4 is slow but IE 9 is not that fast as you saying also try chrome for fast performance

I've tried Chrome in the past. It works faster because it has hardly any add - ons. It's these that make IE slower than Chrome but at the same time, it's the add-ons that give IF much greater "usability" than Chrome.

Firefox is much better than internet explorer and to count the speed i fell IE 9 too is slower than it. As IE will engages with other software i=on your computer so it worst to use that, keep Independence for the browser from local files and softwares. Firefox 4 crash more and is slower coz of many feature it had but in coming days we will see Firefox new versions 5,6,7 in this year only hope they will be good! Most best feature the adds on is the one which make Firefox popular and best. Well opera leave it for mobile only it is not as good as a browser need to have same is with safari looks and design as well as functionality are complex. I advice to use the Chrome its latest 10th version which is most fasted and better except it not have adds on but chrome extension are well working fine just try it. We will see chrome to supports the adds on in future then no one will like to stand over it.

I doubt if we'll see a new version of FF this year. They have only just put out the final version of FF v. 4.0 after running the beta version for several months (And I was a FF v. 4.0 beta tester) I was disapointed when the final version was no more reliable than previous versions. I recently decided to use FF for web browsing and in only 1/2 an hour it crashed twice and was unable to recover the tab after the second time. That was no good to me and I went back to using IE 9 (64-bit) which is what I'm using at the moment.

if chrome supports add ons, no doubt it'll be the most used browser in near future!

I have not come to the point of hating it but I got to the point of getting a bit miffed with it. Opera was my default browser, then along came Firefox. After all the issues I went back to Opera which is now on version 11.10 RC2. Firefox 4 is still used occasionally, mainly to see any further developments in the browser.

Oh well that's to bad for me I love mozilla firefox because it goes fast for me as long as my computer is clean as well because that also plays a huge part in how fast your browser will go so yeah. I have actually tried opera before that one is an ok browser the only problems that I had with it is that it would freeze a lot of times on me, but it would unfreeze maybe it's because they had some bugs in them maybe they have them all fixed up now. Anyway good luck on getting a browser that you will love everybody has different opinions on what browser they want to use.

I'm using Chrome and FF...mainly FF. I have always liked FF but now I'm beginning to think (after reading the comments here) that some of the problems I have may be due to FF) It's never crashed on me though, that much I can say. I had no problem letting go IE back when (ages ago) but I'm really loathe to let go of FF for something else.

I'm not really having any problems with Firefox. I hate IE because all it does is freeze and work really, really slow. I tried using Opera a while ago, but then I was having some weird problems with it, so I gave up on that. I still like Firefox. I don't know about any of the problems you are speaking of.

I've read that new IE9 is faster than FF4 or Opera10 of even Chrome. But I think Microsoft launch IE9 too late than their competitors. I never use IE9 cause my OS still XP. But same like you, I found so many problem when I use FF. Honestly, FF is powerful browser for me cause I already install some add ons to make it better, but so many crash I got, so many time I waste.. Now I'm prefer to use Chrome or Safari. Both of them are fastest browser. Although they do not support any add ons like I have in my FF, but they never crash like FF.

Right now I have Firefox and Chrome opened and doing the same thing on both of them. Firefox is using around 150 while chrome only 74. In my opinion Firefox is still standing right now because people got used to it. Their performances are very low and the colors are starting to look very bad, now that I am seeing the colors on Chrome. Maybe I am making a mistake when I am using Firefox as my default browser.

Yes, it's true that firefox has some negative things. It slow in launching and it consume more system memory, and it crash sometimes. But I use it for some advantage, it download files more faster than any kind of browser today. :)
