Reading Habit morning or full night

India
April 10, 2011 9:50am CST
I was observed in my college life some students are during the exam perion completed their study in whole night till 3O'clock or 4 O'clock but some students are wake up in the morning and learn the lesson or revision the lesson they wake up at 4O'clock or 5' Clock in the morning. But when they are seated for study in the morning then most of the students are close the eyes after one answer so I think morning study is not good. But in night everywhere is calm and silence so the students can do the study well at night and learn the lesson perfectly. So share your views about your study pattern with me.

According to me Morning Study is good because when we wake up from our sleep our mind is fresh and we dont have to much worries but if we study at late night then there is pressure on our mind as well as on our body. We perform many activities at day and we have many types of thinking in our mind so study at night does not seems to be much more clear.......

Well, I have always been more of a night person that a morning person. The only time I was really a morning person is the time that I was working days and had to be up early. Otherwise I seem to function best more of the time with going to sleep around 3 a.m. or so, and getting up around 10. For me this is just the routine that always works for me.

Early morning is called the brahma muhurta (http://connect.krishna.com/node/8399) time in our hindu tradition. When we open the book in that time, it will clearly understand. I wanna say the early morning is the best time to read, that time mind is so free.

While I was in college I was one to study during the evenings. I could not do so in the mornings because I had to travel early and there would have been no way to concentrate in the mornings for me. So evenings and sometimes through the night depending on what the lessons were and or any upcoming exams.

It is depend on reading habit of individual one. Some like read up to late night and some early in the morning. It is right that in the night everywhere is calm and silence but no disturbance in the early morning. I like reading in the night up to 1 pm and in morning after 5 PM

I'm a college student and I don't really have a permanent reading habit. Whether its morning or evening, I read books not only academic ones but also books that are for leisure. As much as possible, I don't want to study late during exams because I find it hard to concentrate on the exam per se if I don't have enough sleep. But if my schedule is really tight and I have to stay up late, I see to it that I can sleep before midnight, then I wake up at two am.

Ya friend this is true some students not have permanent reading habit means full year they not do the study only 1 or 2 months before exam period and the get more score. This is also good way your schedule is busy then how you can pass the exam.

Hi sure, I find early morning hours, around four to five, conducive to reading. That is, if I had a good night rest. I find more retention and comprehension on the subject at hand, sharp analysis and clear views. Yeah, I become sleepy afterwards, especially during those daytime boring lectures, around eleven to one in the afternoon. I am not a morning person for that matter, I prefer to rise with the sun most of the time. However, when a really tough matter comes up, I had to deal with it on those early morning hours.

Thanks for sharing Happy posting, cheers. Namastey. Kalyani

I think just before sleep is better because it allows you to put the knowledge on your conscious mind right before your subconscious mind takes over, where you really learn it (so you know it almost as natural as breathing).

Study in the mornings are the most beficial for me to be clear in mind to take in what I need to learn. I also take a turn in the evening hours before I go to sleep. I have discovered that what I've read in the evening hours seem to go through a process in my brain while I'm sleeping. Which has made the new knowledge to mature in my mind. Repetition is best for getting prepared for a doing a test or having an exam a few days before the event.

Yeah. It is good to study at late nights or even dawn time but our bodies have to take a rest too. So the best thing study our lesson is after dinnertime while our stomach is still processing the food. This time our system is alert and any information is easier for our brain to absorb. So in general let us study everyday to sharpen our minds to whatever information we want to study and utilize. It's just like rubbing a hard metal on a river stone. The metal will be sharpened over time.

Hi Surekha, When I was a student I prefer to go bed early and like to get up early for my studies. Even if I sit with my books for studies in night, I used to sleep infront of book so better to sleep early and wake up early morning. My grandfather used to tell his grandchildren, try to study early morning, that time the mind and brain is fresh after the sleep and there is another specialty, the Goddess Saraswathy may give her blessing in this time and it will help us to study easily. (It is believed that Goddess Saraswathy is the Goddess for Education and blessings are very necessary for Children).

When i was in university hostel... me and my friend brushed our teeth at the same time.... lol but the fact was he brushed after sleep and i brushed before sleep. So you can guess when i read...
15 Apr 11
I used to read books at night. I felt that reading at night was good because everywhere was quite and I didn't feel as sleepy as I always did when I read books after waking up. But now I have changed my mind. Now I know that the reason I always felt sleepy when I read books in the morning is because I always slept very late at night because of my night-reading. If I sleep early at night, wake up early in the morning and read books, I will neither feel sleepy nor rired. Reading in the morning also make me remember better than reading at night.

I love reading and studying at night. It is just so quiet and peaceful at that time. There is no one around to distract you from doing your work. There is something calm about it. You know that once you are done, you will receive a reward: a good night's rest!
