Wisden, considered as the Authority in cricket rules and regulations, has declared Sachin Tendulkar as the cricketer of the year for the year 2010. Wisden has been giving this award every year for the best performing cricketer for the calendar year since 2004. The earlier recipients of this award are Virender Sehwag, Ricky Ponting, Shane Warn, Andrew Flintoff, Muttiah Muralitharan and Jaques Kallis. This award had elluded Sachin so far. Wisdon had not found him good enough to get this award so far. I feel Wisden has awarded itself more by giving this award to Sachin then Sachin himself. What are your views on this?

It is obvious that Sachin Tendulkar should recieve Wisden cricketer of the year and I think that this award should be given to Sachin before. But in behalf of me and my family and my friends.I feel that more than the thing that wisden award has been a great honor to Sachin by giving this award to Sachin the Wisden award was honored.

Thank you sabhari. You are right Wisden has awarded itself more by giving award to Sachin than Sachin himself.

I think 2010 has been a phenomenal year for Sachin Tendulkar. His form in both forms of the game has been impeccable. He has scored vital centuries in both forms of the game. I think the last few months have been really rewarding for the little master having won the Wisden Cricketer of the Year and the World Cup. Cheers! Ram

Does anyone really think that Sachin needs anyone's approval now.But frankly speaking I will not blame wisden cos may because of his injuries Sachin was in a bit of decline in the early years of the last decade. But the point to be seen is in his worst form of life too he was one of the best batsmen. But now that the God is back wisden had to honour itself by honouring the master.Take a bow little master.

"Wisden has awarded itself more by giving this award to Sachin than Sachin himself." What a great expression! There can be no two opinions about the award. Sachin has created such an impression as an invincible cricketer all these years. All the same I am sure he has not merited for the award earlier falling short of some criteria by which the selection is made. Possibly this year he has excelled in those as well. Records in run scoring, centuries etc. is one thing and achieving the qualifying criteria for Wisden is another thing. Nevertheless, finally the great Sachin gets the recognition. All cricket lovers in India and other cricket players should feel a great player is honored.
