I am really proud of both of my sons of not being scared of horses, after all they are really big.The woman who is the horse trainer is a really great woman, after all she must have patience to teach children. The horse riding school that my children are attending are highly trained with learning children with a disability, including adhd.Horse riding give my children self asteem as, well as it is a nice treat for them both.Mind you i would never get on a horse, lol, as i am not that keen on them.

That is wonderful. Being around Horses is a good way to teach them a number of things about life. The care and use of the animal not just riding them is a great thing for them. They will also learn that they might be huge but they are gentle. I love horses and had them most of my life. I don't have any now and have not for the past 20 years. I have however been thinking of getting a few to which I will have to get a way around my husband on this one, lol.

My sons have only had three horse riding lessons so far and i will say, the lady who is teaching them, is really pleased with their progress.I went to watch them today for the first time, as my husband had been taking them on their own, we were allowed to park right near, so i did not even have to get out of the car, it was great to see their happy faces, as well as how great they were doing.Whats the betting this year for christmas they will want a horse, lol.My older sons horse was huge, where as my younger sons was smaller.I hope you get a few horses.

I just bet you are right that they will want horses for Christmas, lol. It's good that they are picking it up so quickly. They are naturals. I would like it if I did. I love them so much. Horses are good therapy too.

I have rode a horse one time. It hurt my tailbone too bad though. My husband does not like horses. He says they are too moody and can be mean.

Horses are wonderful, gentle creatures that are just looking for love and approval in most cases. Horses have shown to be very thearputic for children with learning disabilities and a horse can teach them responsibility and trust. As most of you know, I have several horses and I love each of them so much. Matter of fact, I was at the barn for about an hour today enjoying them. Our baby horse is 8 months old and seems to be learning as much from us as we are her. My daughter will be showing horses this year and I am excited about all of the new information she will learn by showing. She has trail ridden for about a year now. We love it!

I think that it is great that these trainers, except my son going knowing that he has adhd, which also causes him to not have great concentration. My son has a favorite horse and they also ensures that he is on that one, he always gives it a hug before gettine on it as well, which i think is sweet, also the girl that stays with my son and the horse while the trainer says what they have to do is really good with my son and encourages him all the time he is with her.To see them both with smiles on their faces is really nice as well as to see them being really confident. It is great that you have horses and that your daughter loves to be with them as well.

This horse riding school was recommended by a person who knows that the riding school also deals with children with disability.I was unsure at first, but i thought no harm in trying and seeing if both my sons liked it.Some of the horses are really big.The smiles on my childrens faces speak louder than words.

I did ride a horse a few years ago for the first time. At first I was scared because I remembered on the TV the many who have been permanently injured and the thought frightened me. Although I pretended to be brave I have to admit I was scared out of my wits. A few times I psyched myself into believing it was fun. But each time I directed the horse one way he went the opposite. So it was kind of funny to see me on that horse, struggling and screaming each time I could not get him to cooperate. I happy to hear your sons have a good trainer, it actually can be really fun as long as we know what to do. lol, as you can see I did not.

Accidents can happen when riding a horse and I have heard they can be skiddish sometimes which isn't good for the rider.

Horseback riding has been shown to be excellent therapy for children with learning problems and also for kids with physical problems. I think this is so nice for your boys.

My son with adhd is having a great time, his older brother is going really great as well as the lady who is training them said that he is a natural. Both of them have been telling me how they were getting on, as i was unable to go with their dad until today, he got permission for him to park his car right next to the ring where they were horse riding, due to my health and i went and sat watching them in the car.It was really great, i am so proud of them both, they have both done really well.

That's wonderful! I've heard about how the horses help children in therapy and that they basically perform miracles. I love horses however, I'll never ride one because they're too big and scary to me but still, the wonders that they do for kids is just incredible!

That is so nice! Leaning to ride can help alot for children and adults with disablities! Mental and physical disabilities! there are programs around where I live were some stables have horseback riding programs for people like your son. I think those programs are great! I hope to get back in the saddle myself someday!I miss it!

Horses are very good for disabled children. Probably any animal is, but with a horse you can improve your confidence and self esteem by learning to ride it. Taking care of it and grooming it etc. teaches children a lot also. Even in homes for older people if there is a pet, the patients seem to do better and care more about life.

HOrse riding has always been my dream. I would love to try riding a horse one day. It's way too expensive in singapore due to the short timing one has with the horse. Another thing i'm scare of is the sudden horse kick by them. SOme horses can be unpredictable at times, and i'm afraid of falling off them as well. It's nice that u have a good horse trainer for your sons. I'm sure they are having great fun.

That is good your sons have found a hobby that they both like doing. It is great that they are both not worried about the size of a horse, as compared to the size of a child they are really big. Also that the trainer has a really good reputation and has all the certificates to show that she has qualifications to teach as well as be with children.Bet you are pleased that you gave it a go.I would never give it a go at riding, as i am like you, lol.

That's awesome. I hope your sons have a lot of fun! Horse riding can be scary when you are first learning to ride, but it quickly becomes an enjoyable pastime. I grew up on a ranch, so I've been riding horses my entire life. You have to be careful around horses and pay attention to what you're doing so they don't get spooked and throw you or kick. As long as you're careful, though, horse riding can be so much fun! :)

When I was a young girl I loved horses like no other animal. I read all the books on the different types and used to go ride bare back with the neighbor horses pastured across the street from where I lived. I knew nothing about them and took a great chance riding them like that. But I trusted them and they seemed to trust me. (I got on their good side by bringing them clover while I was working up my nerve to ride them)Then I moved to a small suburb of the town where I lived. There was a trainer down the road and my boyfriend did some work for him and then we got use of his horses and lessons for payment. I had several lessons and enjoyed it very much.

Riding a horse is always something that i wanted to do when I was younger. One of ny good friends was very much into horses and it fascinated me too. My mother was nearly kicked in the head by a horse at a fair when she was a child. She was very much afraid to be around a horse so horses and her children her p=out of the question. Still, it was something I dreamed of.

There were horses on a farm where i lived as a child and there was a girl that got kicked, that is one of the reasons that i do not like them. However, my sons love horse riding and i think that it is good that they both enjoy it as now there are things that we know they like as well as can do together as brothers. It is really nice to see them galloping on the horses, both with smiles on their faces.

well i used to ride and i used to work in a riding school and teach. my daughter loves horses and i often take her to the farm where my sister has her horse and there are a couple of little ponies there that the owners let my daughter ride. she has just turned 4 so has been riding a little since she was 3 and loves it, its also a good form of exercise

hi friend, yes animals have been found to be therapeutic and I think horses are one of the most exciting way especially for young people. I'm very happy for you and your children. I always loved and wanted horses since I was a kid but sad to say we do not have much riding schools here and thoroughbreds are reserved only for the super rich. We have smaller versions but the horse parks are outside Metro Manila so kids only get to try them every summer for a few hours. Wish you and your children the best friend and good luck
