They fight for their rights, sometimes raising their rights on the management or at times against government. If these unions are not there, I feel a worker could be easily sacked or those rules will be handled according to the wishes of those managements. But at times it is also seen, that labor unions use their power to destroy the well going managements. They go violent and act according their own ways. It is sure that cooperation and understanding with labor unions and management could give better outcome. As the labor unions represents the problems of labors and managements solves it and express their problems to labor unions so as the labors could go accordingly. But I feel mostly working class is always needed for the growth.

The basic purpose of the labour union are to protect the rights of workers. But at present the labour union are not performing their duties properly. All labour unions attached with one political party. Political party use labour union for their own interest. The labour was useful in socilism set up. It is period of open economy. Labour union should not be banned but these should be work for interest of worker not for the political parties.

No not atall. Without labour union there is very less chance to fight with the opposites for the shake of labour rights. Labours are helpless withour Labour union because Union means Unity. There is no success Without Unity in any area of life.

Hello Sham, I think the purpose of labor union is to protect the rights of labours. Unfortunately these unions are doing injustice to the management and making some nuisance. Sometimes the unions are making nuisance to the public too. I agree the unions are working for the welfare of the labours at the same they try to protect some special interest to some special people which may create problems in the work place. If the union focus on the welfare of labours and ensure their rights there won’t be any problem and no need of banning the same. I would like to add that our state is facing many problems because of the ‘unions’ and I think sometimes it is a curse and prevents the state from the developments.

I feel labor unions are lacking better educated and knowledgeable people who could move for the development side. Nice valuable responds.

I dont think it should be but there has to be limitations with what they do. Sometimes people who are in union are annoying and they are very one sided people so I think there has to be rules that they need to follow.

Labor unions are there to balance what is for the employees. A company that have a labor union, would always do what should be proper for the employees, as mandated by the Dept. of Labor. Yes, that's true sometimes labor union could be a bit harsh. They would demand wage increases without trying to evaluate the capacity of their company, if giving a wage increase would mean so much loss on the company which could eventually lead to closure, consequently loss of jobs for the employees. As long as the labor unions are also fair on their demands, i think it should stay.

Labor unions are actually good for employees. A lot of people benefit from it. Although sometimes they over react on things and make it worse for the management. What they need for every labor union is a patient and good leader. If they have some concerns, why not open it up to the management calmly, with respect and sincerely. Some do this through rally and sometimes a more violent one which is wrong. I do believe that any arguments and problems can be solve with better understanding.

In any part of the society, there is a union. Because only when you are united, people can not take advantage of you. But in the worst cases the unions try to show their power to achieve some unfair goals. In that case the management can take steps against that, but union is necessary. The management should go with politely when the demands are right but the management can manage the situation if the unions are trying to achieve some unfair goal, if the management cant, why they are called managers? But the unions should remain.

I think labor unions were extremely important in the past. They helped with rights and conditions. Now I think they probably do still serve a good purpose in some areas but I think they have become too powerful. They dictate rather than compromise and negotiate for the benefit of all.To some extent I think Obama has been pressured to be favorable to unions as a pay back for their support. I don't think a total ban is appropriate or necessary but giving them less power would be helpful.
