Accidentally deleting bookmarks in Google Chrome

It's about 1 am. It's dark. I'm on the computer going through my bookmarks when, instead of hitting some other key on the keyboard (I can't even remember what I was supposed to hit... was it enter or up?), I accidentally hit delete. *gasp* I look over my bookmarks and find that my second most used folder is gone. O.O There wasn't even an 'are you sure you want to delete this?' question. It just poofed! I looked in the recycle bin, it wasn't there. I looked for an undo button, there was none! Ctrl-Z doesn't work. Initial search in help told me there is no way to recover deleted bookmarks in Chrome. ='( Until I found this: www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=34397b8ff6a48a99&hl=en

Hi moirai, first of all I'd like to thank you for the info - I didn't know that, and it might be useful in the future. Then, to answer your question, to me bookmarks are little more than reminders (what should I check? Mail, Facebook, Mail#2...) or shortcuts, so I wouldn't be too worried if I accidentally deleted some of them. Of course this depends on the number and importance of bookmarks: I have few bookmarks, and they point to websites that are easy to find by simply googling their name. So, should I delete them, I could recreate them in a few minutes.

You are welcome! =) One of the reasons I posted this was actually to put the information out there in case anyone might need it. =) Many of my bookmarks are also just shortcuts. Meaning I just have them in a convenient place that I can use as a take-off point for my daily things but they are links that are easy enough to search for in case I lose them. But it just so happened that the folder that got deleted contained specific links to a particular friend's blogs (note: plural =P ) and I depend on those links to get to the sites as I can't remember them off the top of my head. =P I guess I could also try searching for them using search engines if I lose them, but it might take a bit of time and that's a hassle I'd rather not go through. =P Thanks so much for your reply! =)
