Good Friday: Is it really good?

For us Christians, Good Friday is really good because it is the day that the Lord has accomplished the prophesies spoken of by the prophets from of Old. It is the day where the fulfilment of these prophesies happened. On Calvary, Jesus, the sacrificed Lamb has been slain and that the salvation for all has been given. The Holiest among all other days is Good Friday. Our Lord, opened up a fountain of mercy for all of us sinners. Even though we do not deserve this most important grace, yet God through His unconditional love to all of us, sent His ONLY Son to redeem the human race. Atrocities pertaining to this faith have sometimes been observed. Agnostic and unbelievers often accused us of believing in a seemingly fairytale, legend or myth. But, this is no myth, legend nor a fairytale. This is supported historically, socially, anthropologically and above all Biblically. So, Christians should rejoice and be grateful for this day has come which is tantamount to salvation!

Hi, If I compare the holidays between the Hindus and the Christians I see less of devotion and commitment in the act among the Hindus where as the Christians are very serious about Easter or Christmas. Our people hold religious festival for the sake of holding and collecting money to misuse them. And about the Good Friday what you said is true.

Hello krajibg! I am happy to be in conversation with my brother Hindu ( I hope you feel the same way too :-)) By the way, I am a Catholic-Christian. You know, in a percentage of 100% Christians, there are those who are like your Hindu people who do not take religious practices seriously. Some, if Holy Week comes, would opt to go to vacation and enjoy the bliss of their spare time. They do not mind anymore religious activities in the church. Both our religion have their positive and negative practitioners. However, the most important thing is we ourselves do our part and become a good Hindu or Christian. Moreover, we can constantly remind our people through blogs and discussions such as this and it's up for them whether they'll listen or not. God bless you krajibg! :-)

You are absolutely rightly friend. Say, we have ten ten days religious festival called Durga Puja and all but for most of us instead of performing religious duty they opt for going places. But this tendency is comparatively lesser among Christians. Thank you very much. Merry Easter.

Well this "non believer" Doesn't think it is a fairytale. You answered my question.I thought Easter was more holy than Christmas. I thought what made Good Friday good was that it is the start of The End of the beginning.
