Shooting stars

shooting stars - shooting stars fall from sky at night
India
April 22, 2011 5:00am CST
I usually go out at night to check if the main gate to my compound is left open by renters, tonight also I will go out, I am expected to see bunch of shooting stars falling from sky. I read this in my local newspaper. It says, every April this astronomical phenomena occurs, because the earth’s gravitation force pulls the derbies in the sky. This time it is from meteorite, named C-1861G-1. As the stony or metallic object falls under gravitational force of earth, it burns due to friction in air, giving rise to ‘shooting-stars’. There are different stories associated with shooting stars; some say they are saints, who were in the form of stars in the sky. Many make wishes seeing the falling stars. Do you have any story to share about the shooting stars? Do you see them in the sky? Do you make wishes? Well I don’t believe in this. Please respond and share your views. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

I have only seen one shooting star in my life. It was years ago and I remember how weird and scarey it was! I hope someday to see one again!

When I see shooting stars, I remember my late father when I was a kid, he told me that you make a wish before the shooting star disappears, I know now that he did not even believe what he told me but maybe it was just to satisfy my inquisitive mind. I had not seen a shooting star for a long time but I still wish before it disappears when I see one, not because I believe my wish would come true but only because it reminds me of a person I love, I also tell my kids to do the same so they will remember me someday

dada, When i was a kid,i used to believed in fairy tales, shooting stars and fantasy land. Even now,i am still dreaming of a fairy tale story to come true. Here in our place, kids believes in shooting star's wishes that comes true. That's ages ago,but in this modern times where studies and technology are beyond control and unthinkable..kids will just laughed at you. One upon a time,i wish on a shooting start that someday i will be one of the brightest star when i die. So,my loved ones will never missed me each time they'll see that brightest star which is ME

I really dont believe in those things but still doesnt hurt for me to think about a dream or fantasy in those times. So I might if I am in the mood to make a wish off that shooting star. Well my dreams can only come if I have alot of money. My dreams are so big. Alot of people say that money don't bring about happiness. Well for me it does make me happy because that is the only way my dreams can come true.

Hi, Professor, My 8 year son always about this star. But I am sure the shooting star can't make his wish true. Because his wish is that much tough. This is wish: He wants to change as an animal.

Hi Professor, I've often watched shooting stars, though I haven't seen any recently. I also remember making wishes but I've never believed in such superstitions. Blessings.

hi professor I had not thought of falling stars in ages. my mom used to say wish upon a f alling star and your wish will come true. I guess if that holds true I must not be a very lucky person as my wishes never came true at all. sob cry I just never believed in that perhaps that why they did not comne true. lol

I've only been lucky enough a couple of times in my life to get to see shooting stars. When I've seen them, I do always make a wish because that is what my parents had us do when we were very young. The last time that I saw a shooting star was last fall when we were driving out to a friend of ours house that lives about 25 minutes away from us in the country. It seemed so bright because of the fact that there was no light pollution.

I also don't believe on wishing on a falling star but sometimes life could be so hard that I wish this fantasy to be true. Haven't really seen any falling star lately but it would be great if I could one day, just for the heck of it. Some say it's beautiful so I wanna see what the fuss is all about.
