absent minded

I got early at church for the service. After the very great, moving and fantastic service, I felt the need to satisfy my physiological need. I was hungry. So I went to McDonalds, eat some burgers and fries. Yes, BURGERS, I don't get full with just one. LOL. After giving in to my hunger, I finished my drink, slurp, slurp... Then I got out of the fast food. I walk so fast, rushing to the nearest bus station to ride home. Only to find out, I left my bag on the other chair in Mcdonalds. Absent minded me, I hurried back to the fast food with hopes to see my bag still in the place where I put it. Flashing in my mind the things in there. Any valuable? Yes, a cell phone. Any thing else? Yes, my bible and hey, my notes, scribbles. I can buy another phone and bible, but not my notes. I frantically reached for the door and entered soon as I get to the fast food. I look at the table where I ate, and smiled because the bag was there, still in the shape when I placed it earlier. Thank you LORD. Got it back. Was pretty absent minded recently. Anything happened happened to you like this lotters?

Wow! chuyins123. I am so glad that you found your bag just where you left it at! This is a blessing! I have lost a $20.00 bill about three years ago at the library once. I had to retrace my steps from inside of the library to the outside on the grounds of the library. I walked about three to four times into the library's parking lot and I finally found my money. It was in the parking lot. I was so happy because anyone, I mean anyone, could have spotted this money and taken it for themselves.

Wow! yeah, someone could have easily pickedit up. Lucky you. It happened to my office mate too, and he traced his steps. He found his 20$ just on the streets where a lot of street kids are playing. Wow, that was a blessing! He needed that money, he just borrowed it. :)

You were very lucky in this situation and I'm sure that someone was looking after your interests at this time! I believe that this has happened to me in the past although it has just been a mobile phone that I have left behind as opposed to a bag or rucksack. Absent-mindedness catches up with us all at some point I think. It's not the best of experiences to have and I guess it causes us to do some serious thinking afterwards! At least the situation turned out ok for you and I'm sure that everytime you venture into a McDonalds restaurant you will now have those memories resting at the back of your mind! Andrew

About a year ago I was boarding a plane I got on and sat down and realized I left my laptop on a seat by the gate. I ran off the plan and was so happy to see my laptop still sitting on the seat. I don't know what I would have done if someone had taken it. There were people walking around and someone could have easily taken it.

Wow, that was close. I would feel more nervous if that was my laptop. Then again, thank God stuff is safe. :)

I've been a pretty absent minded person since the time that I have been a mother. During that time, I think that I am pretty lucky that I've not lost anything that is valuable to me. However, there have been a lot of times that I'll be at someone's house and I will forget to pick up something that I've taken into their home. The most recent example of that was when my kids spent the night with a friend of mine and when we went to pick them up, I forgot to pick up their dirty clothes to bring them home.

Absent mindedness - Milk spilling over
My milk spills over as I forget to watch it boil. I will be doing something else instead of standing there till it boils. This happens many times with me. I must take care to see that this does not happen again. Here in India they believe milk spilling is a bad sign but I do not believe in it.

Yeah, I also don't believe in any superstitions and everything. Well if if it spills naturally, that can be scientifically explained, then there's no reason to believe on some superstitious belief of the society. We are already an educated generation. So it's fine. Don't believe it.

Same thing did happen to me before. I once used my credit card to claim my freebies from one fast food chain. They would naturally ask me to hand over my credit card for verification. I had my freebies to go and took off after it was given to me. 2 weeks after, i went to the bank to settle my bills. I looked for the card in my wallet to get its number so that i may be able to put it in the form I'll be using to pay. I haven't received my bill as of yet as the bank failed to send it to me on time. It was then that i realized that my credit card was not inside my wallet. I couldn't remember then where i did place it. I usually do put it back in there every after use. I tried to remember where did i last used it. My thoughts led me to the fast food chain. I forgot if they handed me over the credit card. Thoughts run through my mind. What if i left it somewhere and somebody got hold of it and used it. My outstanding balance then was just barely P4,000 and the remaining amount which could be used is still big. That would be a big price to pay for my absent mindedness. Luckily, the fast food chain was just a few stores away from the bank so i went there to check. I asked the cashier if they happen to keep my credit card since the last time i used it there i don't remember them handing it out to me before i left. The cashier said she'll verify with their store manager and whoala! by the grace of God it was there! I am very much thankful for they had kept it with them safe. I checked the balance and it is still the same. It was only then that I was able to proceed to the bank to have my bills settled. I thank the Lord and thank the staff of the fast food chain for the safekeeping of my credit card which will really cost me that much had they not took responsibility of it and had it been put on the wrong hands.

Fast food chains have great credibility on safekeeping things left behind by their customers. I also once encountered an aged lady who left her wallet on a food chain and asked of it from the cashier, they investigated, asked her some questions and verified the informations she'd given. Then in a few minutes she released her wallet. I remembered how flashing she smiled as she thanked the crew. Surely, things will be in great shape when they are in good hands.

Many times it so happened to me that I searched for my pen or mobile phone while I was actually holding it in my hand.
