Mylot is still prone to Abuse.some problems just don't go away.

Hi Lotters,
THis site has gone a lot of trouble since it was originally made back in 2004. i don't know about the older ones but when i was here in 2008, there's a lot more discussions, deep conversations and yes, trolling around.
The worst case was the negative rating and creation of the multiple accounts. though after a group made the admin listen to their plea, they decided to limit the negative rating. unfortunately, the anonymous click among users can also promote abuse. like people pretending to be some one, you never really knew if the person you're talking to is a man, women, gay or lesbian pretending to be some one else.
Well, at least the damage isn't grave compare to other social networking sites and forums. there's still dangers with neg raters and those pretenders.
I am just saying, No social site is safe unless they don't honor your privacy, which is not safe either.

Hi dear..
I am neither a negative rater nor a pretender. Mylot is everything of my life, its my passion, its my friend, its my addiction.... hence i am quiet serious here in maintaing the relationship.
But the trouble that is irritating me is that some discussions are not displaying on my profile where as i reported and started discussion too.

Well, I haven't really gotten to know you that well here in online but at least you have let me know that you aren't those two. It's good to know that you're serious in maintaining a good relationship here with the other lotters. The best thing to keep them here is to at least have a positive attitude and do your best not to react negatively on things. I have hard time myself doing that but it's a good thing to do. Hi friend,
I don´t undertant what you say about people pretending to be someone else. Even when you are in front of someone, you cannot exactly know who he/she is or what he/she thinks. Many times I am not even sure about my own self because people are very complex. I write posrs and I receive answers. I respond to the answrs. If they seem intereing to me, I comment; if they don´t I pass. I don´t think it is important the race, beliefs or gender of the person who is answering although sometimes, depending on the converation, you can deduce it. Will you please tell me what importance does it have to a post about making money if you are gay, heterosexual or lesbian?

What I don´t understand is the importance you give to this. In this site we are just voices, not flesh and blood people. How do you know my picture is a picture from myself? Is it important? Once I posted an old picture of myself in my avatar at another site. I received a proposal

No, we don't. Just like what happened the last time where people had been busted for not being true to themselves are getting in such a bad issue with some other lotters. Before some of my mylot acquatances become friends because I have occassionally talked to them in the morning and afternoon in other social networking sites.

People are people and jerks are jerks. Every site has its jerks. At least this site is moderated so that it doesn't get too badly out of control. Unfortunately there's no jerk proof log on script. Now that would be worth a fortune!

Yes, I know there are jerks here, and they were more in the past, but things have gone little bit down because of the admins being active to these site. Not to mention thousands or hundreds of moderators working in secret to delete those post. Unfortunately, there isn't a fool proof against jerks, unless the site is cursed against Jerks. Hi. LetranKinight25. I agree, there are hackers on myLot and trolls too. I have met one about two weeks ago. My first time really. I have had it out with a few members in the past, I had to put them in their places and they did not like that. Oh well. They rated me negatively and it is not fair at all. We all have to just be careful of whom we may run into while on myLot. People can be very secretive and they have plans to ruin a person. They choose myLot because they know that they can get away with it. If myLot screened individuals by their IP Addresses then many hackers would not be doing their evil deeds to others.

They are hackers alright, butthis site is strong enough to handle being hacked. Unfortunately, mylot can't screen people with their IP addresses for some reason because if they do, they wouldn't allow the sharing of computers and Paypal Email addresses. Though, it's much more appreciative if they have firewall protection. Have a nice day.

Screening individuals by their IP Addresses is a good thing, and an added protection for all users from hackers and abusers. I wonder why myLot doesn't implement that?

i am new here in mylot, only been a member just a week ago and so far i am enjoying this site.. i think that with every social networking site, there is always that possibility of people not having their right identity especially because it is just so easy to create an account.. too bad!

Mylot is a good place to be that is for sure, but there are people that are mean and vindictive, and I think that those kind of people are all over the internet, just not here. It behooves all of us to be careful what information we give out to others, as it can eventually come back and harm us. I don't ever give out my personal information, especially to those that I don't know. You just don't know what kind of people there are out there, so it is much better to be safe than sorry. You are right though, that since we have never met the people we have talked to in here, are really who they say they are. Not everyone will tell the truth, but then again there are some that will, but since we don't know them, we need to cautious at all times. Take care, and happy mylotting.

It is my personal opinion that nothing on the net is fool proof safe. We as users must protect ourselves and not give out way too much information. As for neg raters, it happens we see it daily and it affects all of us. I just remain me and not allow anyone to change me and eventaully it will either stop and or things get better. As for trolls gosh I have only been here for 11 months and have seen quite of bit activity and I sometimes just don't understand why they come back over and over.
I am very happy with our Admin here who does the impossible daily keeping the site as clean as possible. I often wonder though if the unsafe members just get tired eventually and give up. As for why someone would say they are male when they are female and or vice verse, that is their choice. I can only say I am 100% female and would not pretend to be who I am not. lol.. I would not make a good man. lol

Have they realized already why I don't upload much of my photos here. Most specially in Facebook, because violators tend to hide and do more damage. Even with the tracking IP addresses it's not reliable anymore. The person who accused me relied solely on the IP address, claimed I was in QC. But Duh! I live in Cavite. It's sad but let's hope they get the karma some day. Have a nice day.
