So I know lots of people kill time on facebook etc but is it really one of your favourite sites? What are your favourite websites and why? I'd love to expand my list with your suggestions! I think mine would have to be: fanfiction.net - because i love to read and to write neopets.com - because I'm a geek, and games are always a great break from revision bbc.co.uk - I like to try and keep up with what's going on various student websites, like everycollegegirl.com

Some of my favorite sites are: http://www.clubbing.com - because by playing their games I earned enough tickets to get my daughter and I a free xbox360. Now I'm saving up for a free laptop. http://www.skilladdiction.com - because by playing games here I've earned enough tickets for a WalMart gift card and money is very tight right now. That gift card is keeping us in dish detergent and bathroom tissue while I earn enough tickets for another gift card. My daughter is saving up for the PS3. http://shareadspace.com/index.php?ref=17958 - because I can do this while doing things like writing on mylot and they've paid me time and time again over the years. I put the money in my paypal account then in August I start my holiday shopping at: http://www.ebay.com - because then I can avoid the crowds in the stores and my budget at the end of the year doesn't take a hit for it.

We got the Xbox last spring. The site told us it would take 8-12 weeks to receive the prize when I redeemed for it, but it showed up at my door after only three weeks with a pretty silver and blue bing sticker on the box. At that time Club Bing allowed a maximum of 1,000 tickets a day and the Xbox was 55,000 tickets. Sometimes they'll run a double ticket day too. It took 1.5 to 2 hours a day to get the maximum tickets and we had enough in less than two months of solid playing. Since then, Club Bing has reduced the max tickets to 500. But hey, it's free. The Xbox isn't listed as one of the prizes right now, but I've seen it come and go from the prize list several times over. I'm sure the delay is because Club Bing is owned my Microsoft and I'm sure they are trying to maximize profits on the Kinect before they offer it for free. There are lots of other prizes though, including accessories for the Xbox, and you could always start saving up tickets at your leisure so that you have most if not all you need when the Xbox comes around again on the prize list. Just go over there and look at the prizes. With this information, you should be able to determine how long it will take you to get something you would like. I don't get any downline benefits from Club Bing so sharing this information is only to share a good thing.

I'm obviously going to have to try the first three of these, having never heard of them! I'm totally intrigued though. Can I ask how long you've been saving for the xbox? I love ebay, you can get such good deals. I find etsy can be really cheap too if you're willing to slog through to find what you want!

I love fictionpress, neopets, mysoju, any design websites, youtube, and yahoo answers. Fictionpress-because I love to write and read. Neopets-because I'm a geek too. Mysoju-because I like to watch asian dramas...Youtube-because there's lots of music videos on there, and yahoo because I like to dish out advice...As for design sites, it's just another hobby of mine. :)

Fair enough :) I prefer fanfiction but fictionpress is also good. Yay, fellow geek lol. Never heard of mysoju, but I use youtube for music videos (when I can be bothered) too. Design as in...web design? Interior design? ... other types of design that I can't think of right now?

Well, that would have to be the websites that I have some articles published on and that is the likes of Triond.com, Helium.com and Associated Content. I also like livejournal.com as you can keep personal journals on that site and I love to keep a personal journal, call it my little bit of escapism! I also love to read and I read a lot, I've never heard of fanfiction so I guess I will have to check it out. I can't say that I play online games much although I do have a couple of games consoles which I like to dig out from time to time. Anyway, such is life! Andrew

Fanfiction.net is great if you have a particular series that you'd like to read more of but that haven't been written! So for me, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan...and I'm really not a fan of all the couples she wrote in the epilogue...so I read fanfics that explore other couples :) They have sections for fanfiction about books, tv and even games. If you're not up for fanfiction, you might prefer their sister site, fictionpress, which is all original fiction in both poetry and prose form. You can pick the style you'd like to read, and the genre, and hey presto - reading for those afternoons when you don't have a book.

I'm an imdb fan too :) 4shared sounds good but honestly I'm too lazy to download things lol. Ah, my game site of choice is neopets...started when I was about 12 and it just stuck! I love seeing my points go up/my new trophies...even though neither counts towards anything :(

I have a few favorite sites that I frequent to. Aside from myLot & Facebook, I visit deviantART.com a lot where I have an account. It's a place for visual artists and those who appreciate it. I also love IMDb.com because I love movies. I get to check movie/TV series/actor information there.

I have deviantArt only I never really have time to draw etc until holidays :( I love looking at other's work though. Ah IMDb....necessary for all those "Doesn't he also play..." moments. That's pretty much all I use it for though, as well as "I know I recognise her but I don't know why...."

I'd have to say Youtube is my favorite website. Whenever I'm online, I pretty much always have a tab opened and am on Youtube. I also really like Fanfiction.net and its sister site, FictionPress (I feel old thinking I started using the sites when able to get to both from the same site).

Another youtube vote. I'm a huge ff fan, and have periods of being obsessed with fictionpress too. Do you write? What do you like to read fanfic wise?

I haven't tried gametop.com, I usually just stick to neopets because then all my game scores add up to (fake) money. It can't be spent on anything other than in game stuff but it's fun to watch my points add up :) I'm still getting used to mylot since I only joined yesterday, but I'm sure I'll figure everything out soon enough.

thestudentroom.com is one of my favourites as I'm a student (surprise!) and it's helpful as well as being full of random discussions at the same time. triond.com is one I visit a lot because I write a lot of artciles on there and I'm obsessed with seeing how many people have viewed me today. failbook.com is good for a laugh as it makes fun of all the stupid things people post on facebook! and btyahoo.com as it's my homepage where all my emails and up to date news is at :)

Me too, I usually only use TSR for things like study tips etc, I always forget there's so much more on there. I haven't tried triond.com but I keep hearing about it - is it good? Failbook may be worth a go :)
