Hello Gstitzer,
With only 82 posts in 5 years you haven't earn too much, have you?
You have to be more active here to increase your earnings. Find some interests that you like the most and be active there. Make some friends that share the same interests and discuss with them about your favorite subjects as much as you can.
Don't forget about the quality of your posts, in myLot not only quantity matters.

The only ways to earn more are to post more and to post discussions that get good response. The latter is more difficult, obviously, since people reply to the weirdest things...

We do not earn for the responses that others post on the topics that we start though.
We can earn by commenting on them, furthering the topic and turning it into a discusssion.

Well, I have to contradict you. Many (or good) responses to the discussion you started won't bring you anything.
What earns for you is only what you write.
Nobody earns from what other users write, the rule is something like "I type, I earn. You type, you earn."
So, to earn more from a discussion you started, you should respond to each of your respondents and to forward the discussion as much as you can, as this is what myLot expects us to do: discuss.
The good thing about starting discussions is that you can discuss about a subject you like, instead of discussing subjects chosen by other users.

I use my earnings to buy used books. The money here is very minimal, but a few books don't cost much.

I have good days and bad days at discussions and respoonses. A lot of it is called life that gets in the way and I just don't want to be straddled to a computer either.
If I find a discussion that has a good idea I can respond to I do it.
If not I go on til I find a discussion in my interests or friends that I like and try to respond to them.
Good luck and just take it as you get it. I would prefer to have this as fun than work. Once you try to make it a job, and see how little you earn after being on here so long you will get more frustrated.
I usually come on in the evening as I am settling in for the evening if I don't feel like crafting before bed.

The best way to boost your earnings is to make a number of active referrals.This is because you get paid even for what your friends do.And keep posting,keep participating in discussions and chill,..

The less you think about earning and the more you think about having fun and participating in the topics that interest you then the more you will see your earnings increase.
