I checked and all the other discussions are very old. The US has announced that the man has been killed in Pakistan. How do you feel about this? What will change with his death. Should we believe the news?

I am on another site and it was posted there. People have confirmed it on FaceBook and Twitter. I understand that Obama is speaking about it now. It happened a week ago, but they wanted to confirm that it was him before releasing it to the news. I have not checked Yahoo yet, but it should be up there. Maybe without his leadership some of the fighting will be abandoned.

I view this as a psychological victory more than anything. Especially since our troops also still have the body. Others will step up, but I believe it will be like a bad luck charm to them for us to have done this.

Your troops threw the body into the ocean.Don't know why but it has already happened. Now I doubt how much I should believe on what US government is saying.

Conspiracy! So tell me how this works, after they kill the most wanted person in the world, they just throw their body over the boat into the ocean! Ahh! that’s such a great story……not, that’s why in the old days you bring back the persons head to make sure the job was done! Can you say fake? You can't trust The President, you know how many secrets they don't tell you..And the News? You can't trust them either every news channel says something different.

Hmm, not sure how to respond to this. I hadn't heard that they already disposed of his body in the sea. That sounds a bit dodgy to me. I thought they were taking it back to the US. I'll have to do some checking.

They tried to send his body to his family in Saudi, but the Saudi government refused to accept it. Following Muslim tradition, a body must be buried within 24 hours, so he was buried at sea. I'm sure we will see proof soon. And you can trust the President, and I really don't believe your statement that half of Americans don't believe the government. I think you should check your stats. By the way, I think they got his DNA from his sister, who has been in protective custody since shortly after 9/11. I feel your comment is inappropriate to this discussion.

Taking back to the US? Ha...just forget it.They're a fat liar(I doubt much bigger than Pakistani government).Never believe on everything what US government says.Their own citizens(almost more than half)also don't believe on them.

He was responsible for the deaths of not only westerners but many muslims as well. Good riddance is what I say! As far as the terrorist organisation that he created though, I don't think that it will change a thing. And I also think that there are serious questions to be asked of the Pakistani security as to why he was able to live in a fortified compound only a few hundred yards from a Pakistani military base without raising any suspicions.

The military did not inform the Pakistani security about the mission and with the very good reason that if they had done, Bin Laden would have got wind of the strike and fled. They have probably got very good reasons for not trusting the Pakistani security and military like previous covert operations betrayed thorough information being shared with them. Like you say though, I doubt that there will be any honest answers forthcoming - certainly not from the Pakistani side and probably not from the American side either since it's imperative that the Pakistanis are kept on side.

I'm sure there are many questions which will come to light over the next short while...whether we get any honest answers is doubtful and many of the questions will also be hushed up I'm sure.

I am glad to hear of it. I know somewhere, sometime in the future, the photos and other proof will be presented. We just need to be more vigilant because not all terrorism will end now but it has the potential to begin the healing we all desperately need.

I'm sure we will be on high alert for some time. Even when they show the evidence, there will STILL be someone who thinks it's all faked--I mean some people think Elvis is still out there!

He certainly has been coming across as a chicken for the last few years. He oversees the murders of hundreds then runs off and hides. A rotten sort of person in anyone's eyes.

Hi MsTickle Well, I am not sure whether this is true or false and also whether the world benefits or not... I have a different theory right now - maybe Osama was not the one who was doing all this, maybe he was forced to do all this by some other people maybe in his team (AL-Quaida) or anyone outside? It is a seamless set of possibilities... and so we should be more prepared.

I've heard all kinds of reports and don't know what to believe. Did they really get him after all these years? I heard that they dumped his body in the ocean which to me is just weird. why? I don't know what if anything would change but I doubt it would end terrorism. The people that followed him believed much the same way that he did so I imagine that they will just replace him. I am curious as to whether or not anything was done to actually verify that it was in fact him. I'm sure there must of been and I just haven't read up enough. I just remember that when the search for him first began years ago, there were many that looked very much like him.

It might be true. I haven't seen any backlash from Al Qaeda stating that he is alive and that America is once again lying about his demise. It is all very weird though...there is certainly something fishy going on. My question really, now, is...why???

One day it was going to happen although I had started to think that he would die of old age rather than the hitherto ineffectual search that has cost the lives of hundreds of US and allied troops along the way. I do not rejoice but i am certain that this is the right outcome for a man pledged to the wholesale and indiscriminate murder of Americans. I suspect thar the World will now have to be on its guard as reprisals are made in retaliation. The end is not yet in sight.

Gee, that explains the cheering in the streets. My guess is that he probably wanted to emigrate at some stage in the past and the US knocked him back. Yes, I realise I probably shouldn't be facetious but I just couldn't help myself. I just woke up and I don't have all my wits about me yet.

I agree fish that the end is not in sight but why do you single out Americans? It has been my understanding that al Qaeda have been responsible for terrorist attacks in various countries including that terrible bombing in London in 2005.

Bin Laden made several broadcasts where he singled out the Americans as the enemy and made it clear that they were all fair game so far as he was concerned. I don't think that he has done that to any other single nationality.

Hi. MsTicke. I believe that Bin Laden is deceased, even if I have not seen his actual deceased body for my very own naked eyes. I think that he deserved to die, because he was a terrorist that could careless whom he killed or hurt. He took many innocent lives away and now his life is taken away too. So sad, especially because of the fact that he has a wife and children at home, just like most of us have.

It is not a one-man army. There are many terrorist groups in Afghanistan,Pakistan and all over Middle-East and Africa. There are thousands of a$$holes like him in these parts and in my country,India, these Jihadi people are and have been trying to convert Muslim youngsters into terrorists for last many decades but here fortunately most of the Muslim youngsters knows what is good and what not. However we are not fully sure about all of them. Sometimes I feel this war is never going to end unless we do understand and respect each other.

If you believe the alternative media, then the USA has known his whereabouts for many years, but have chosen not to act on it until now. This taking of his life and announcing that they expect retaliation of some sort could be just another excuse for them to invade yet another country in the region, or to prolong their stay in Afghanistan.

Personally, I don't believe in such things, I don't even believe that Osama could plan and execute 9/11. Most of the people are not aware of the truth and they know only what the government has showed them on TV and in News Papers. I would request all of you to check this video and decide yourself about the truth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28QukKjwLtI&feature=share

That's a bit long for me to watch I'm afraid but I watched some of it. I was talking to my friend this evening and he had some interesting info on the subject of 9/11. Information regarding the fact that there were tonnes of explosives within the buildings that were detonated at the time the planes hit. He said the amount of destruction to those two buildings was not possible from just being hit by the planes. There had to be other explosives set throughout the buildings to create the total destruction.

No doubt, it's a bit time consuming but I feel if something reveals the real intentions of a government, it will be worth watching. All these speculations that you have about detonators and other factors, you will start believing it, if you understand exactly what happened with the twin towers and watch the video, they show n number of proofs in this video. In one line, this video will explain that people (involved in US government) who claim that it was due to a plane hitting the towers is just BS.... "Steel does not melt by burning petrol"

WEll I so hope it is real might not change to much but then we got the no ! on the list it seems. and maybe his oldest son along with him. almost 10 years to the date of 911. I just wonder how he could have hid there all those years in luxury. plannning more and more deaths. also wonder how much longer than last August has Pakistan has known he was there. HAs he always been there or has he moved arounf in disguise? Lot of questions there that need answers too

We'll only be told whatever it takes to satisfy our curiosity. The truth won't be of much consequence. The whole announcement thing seemed very staged to me. It's as if the prez is trying to get as much mileage as possible out of this event.

Old news by now. Apparently there was a DNA test done, and there is no doubt. Good riddance to somebody who thought it was OK to target civilians to make a point. What will change? I'd like to hope that his organization will fall apart, but I doubt it.

We live in hope, don't we? It could happen. Maybe he told his followers that he would never be killed by those infidels...and he was. Maybe that will be enough to turn a few of his followers around. It will be hoped that he will not suddenly become a martyr to the cause.

Firt thing first. Hi MsTickle. Im finally back and glad to be back. Are you doing okay? Do I believe this. Well I guess I have to since they say they have a body that matches his DNA. I'm just a little concern if this is really over. I mean he managed to hide all these years and I bet he has an ace in the hole if something like this was to happen. God I hope that I am wrong..Keep smiling dear.

Well hello there stranger, how great to see you back. I'm doing well and hope the same goes for you too...will you be staying?? I just have a feeling that everything isn't black and white, there must be plenty of grey areas. Let's face it - how many times prior to this have we been told he's been killed. I also agree that there would have been some sort of plan. I hope he has gone and that some good comes out of his passing...even just a little. Hugs to you.
