Don't put your cart in the check out counter if you still want to shop!!!!!!!

I went to buy groceries yesterday, and everything went well, the cart I got wasn't wobbly and I'm proud to say that I stuck to my budget but then, I went in line to pay for everything and got really pissed off!!! The woman in front of me kept going back to the stalls leaving her cart unattended!!! It was a long line so when the people in front moved I had to push her cart, I don't mind but it was rude not to even ask me to mind her cart for a while, but what really ticked me off was she ended up just buying the items that was originally in her cart and left the ones that she took while in the line!!!!! I was screaming in my mind!!!! If you were me, would you get irritated too or am I just being a touchy feely person right now?

I think I would have looked around for her and if I couldn't make eye contact readily I would have put her basket aside and went on ahead of her. If you make the effort people like that just expect more. They expect it. These type of people are like the main female character in Streetcar Named Desire. Users.

I think you should. It is just down right rude to act the way she did!

i can perfectly understand how you feel... i don't think you are doing the wrong thing... i will feel the same way as you too if i were in your position... it is extremely rude for her to do that... if she hasn't finished the shopping yet, she shouldn't be queing at the checkout... take care and have a nice day...

That would really annoy me to and like you i would be screaming inside as well but my englishness makes me to polite to say anything to the person.Something that annoys me is in a supermarket if the person in front of me knows the person behind the counter and starts having a chat holding the queue up.That causes me to scream in my mind.

I would really hate this to be honest with you. I am under the impression when you are in the line, the shopping trip has concluded. You go through, check out, get on with your day, and let everyone else to get on with your day. You better make sure that you are completely ready to leave before you get line. Because even if I am not in a hurry to get out of you, I can tell you that there are going to be some people who are and are not going to be happy. Therefore, get your shopping done before you get in line. Make a list, check it twice, three times if you have to. Think really hard. Be careful not to burn out any brain cells but think rather hard. You really do need to get right in line and be ready to check out and stay there. Don't hold up the line, people do have lives and we would like to get to them. It thankfully has not happened to me that often, but when it did, it really irritated me.

Yeah that was not right for her to have done. If she wanted to continue to shop she should have removed her cart from the line and returned back to her shopping. I would have been just as upset as you because sometimes this has happened to me and we reach the front and after dragging a cart for someone else they are no where to be seen when it is their turn.

That incident could really pissed you off but since she was not around during the time that it was her turn on the counter, you could have just passed hers and be the one on the counter, and if in the middle of the transaction, she comes, then sorry for her but she just have to come next to you. :-)

Depending how I felt I might have just passed her when she left and the line moved. Let her move her cart.

that would have been an option but I guess I was in a little bit of patient mood that time, but at the end I got really irritated since she didn't purchase the items she went back for...

That was rude of her, and it made you feel like you had been taken advantage of. It probably made others unhappy as well. I would be tempted to move her cart out of the way and just go on through the check out. Everyone else waited in line.

That really depends . If she looks like a nice person or somewhat attractive ,I Would lend her a hand ,or else i probably would leave her cart alone .

This is really off. Yes,why can't she asked you to take charged for a while. One thing i don't like is when people don't even bother to take out their pushcart once they're done. They just leave it there and don't mind while you are trying to push it out your way so that you can put your items over the counter. Why some people are so inconsiderate anyway,or they just don't bother because they don't know us personally...still being rude eh. have a great day

Getting in a long line always make people irk and touchy that a slight incident can trigger it to spark. But you are right, her behavior needs to be rebuked and corrected. If she could not make her ind, still should get out of the line and let others move forward with their purchase.

I normally am patient while waiting for my turn, but it just irked me so much that she ended up not buying the things she kept hauling back and forth! she's so indecisive!

I think you are just irritated because the line was long and you have to wait for your turn. It's understandable that you should feel that way. But you are right, the woman should have politely asked you to mind her cart for the meantime she is to get other items. Maybe she saw that it will be quite sometime before her turn comes, so she took the chance of getting items she may have forgotten.

I got mildly irritated when she went off and got items leaving her cart behind but it ticked me off that she didn't buy the things she went back and forth for!! and it wasn't just once or thrice, I guess it was almost nine times, it was tiring just looking at her!
