Bomb Threat For UK

O.k so Britain is on a nuclear bomb threat alert and I am truly frightened. In one sense I am not bothered about what happens when you die, but if a nuclear bomb went off it could cause a lot of death and damage to the UK. These people who have planted the bomb have no feeling for humanity or children. I have 2 precious children and there are many more children. If they lost parents then what happens to them? These people don't care about things like that? What do you think? Do you think it is just a threat? Or is this something that could really happen?

I thoroughly agree with you, Urban. The Daily Star is not a source I would trust. The final paragraph: "The British Government’s official terror threat level remained at “severe” last night, meaning a terrorist attack is highly likely." is true and both Britain and the US and any country involved in Afghanistan, Iraq or Libya, especially, is very likely to experience terror attacks. A "dirty bomb", however, is very different from a nuclear attack. If such a thing even exists, it is likely to be conventional explosive surrounded by radioactive material which might contaminate a small area but would certainly not have anything like the danger of a nuclear bomb or even the same sort of effect as Chernobyl or the leaks in Japan. I'm afraid that the Daily Star (and posts like this) are scaremongering and simply play into the hands of terrorists. My advice is certainly to be aware and careful but NEVER to be afraid of the possibility of terrorist attacks. The main aim, don't forget, of "terrorism" is to put terror into the hearts of individuals. In that sense, publications like the Daily Star are actually in league with the terrorists!

it does not matter if the star is not a reliable source, the threat is real. it is more possible for that to happen now than when evetbody was running scared during the cold war. It would be more likely to be a "dirty" bomb which is easier to transport and manufacture. but do not worry. I like to think we are on the ball and ready for any bomb plots. sleep tight tonight and worry not.

Thanks for your kind comments. I think that we are on the ball here. Apparently two people were arrested today over bomb threats.

hmm, but where did yew hear this news. and why would someone want to attack Britain. As far as I have heard Pakistan and USA are on high alert and not Britain. A nuclear bomb threat on Britain sounds like a false alarm. So just chill man.
