Especially on toast with cheese melted over the top. Pretty shocking statement ah? But, as we know, some countries do indeed eat mans best friend. Is this wrong? In the UK we eat rabbit and deer. In France you can order a medium rare steak from the rump of a horse. We need to eat but would most of us be vegetarians if we had to do our own dirty work? thank goodness vegetables don't yelp when you pull them out of the ground or some of us would starve to death LOL!

Woof... Not so shocking, really. I know people eat dogs and cats and horses and insects and all sorts of things that we don't eat here. PS How do you know vegetables don't yelp? Maybe they just do it on a frequency that we can't hear.

lol, I seem to remember pulling the broccoli out from the ground and it seem to me that the spruced head was a bit upset with me.

I'm a carnivore through & through!!! I do LOVE my meats!!! I know I would NOT eat dog if I knew what I was eating!!! If I was tricked & ate it before knowing what it was, I'm pretty sure I'd throw up upon discovering what it was!!!! Then again, I thought the same thing about deer & rabbit & I now LOVE them both!!! I must admit though...if I had to kill the animals in order to eat meat, I'd be a vegetarian!!!! I can't believe as sensitive as you are that you've NEVER heard a vegetable scream!!!!

I eat a vegan diet and this is like vegetarian but more strict. I don't eat any animal produce. I have two pet dogs which eat dog food which contains meat. They like dog food with chicken, lamb or beef. I am very keen on traveling and have noticed cultural differences about what is acceptable to eat. In France some people like to eat snails. In the United Kingdom nobody likes to eat that. It is shocking that in some parts of the world they eat cats and dogs. I love animals and do not wish to eat them. Did my dinner have a face? No it didn't. I tried my dogs on vegetarian dog food but they didn't want to eat it.

I have wondered to myself and asked....is a dog better than a chicken or a cow?? I don't think so, but I wouldn't eat dog meat unless I were starving..and even then I would have a hard time with it. I guess it all depends on ones customs...

Really good point. Few people in the western countries actually hunt then prepare their own meats, I know I don't and yeah, I'd probably starve cuz I wouldn't know how to kill let alone prepare something I've hunted.

lol it never ceases to amaze me how people put dogs and cats on such a high pedestal. they will literally derss them up in clothes and treat them as if they were human family members. but yet a rabbit (even though they are also kept as pets) will be served in a restaurant like it is nothing lol. it's crazy. all animals are still animals. and it is still sad that any animal has to die, but if i had to i would still eat a dog (i suppose lol). but really i would prefer to eat plants because they dont have feelings and stuff
