How was your life so far?

Recently, I have come to a point wherein I just took a pause and reflect upon my life. In my 29 years of existence, I can say that I have my share of diverse experiences. I have gained both friends and enemies through my course through life. I learned a lot and I realize that I could still learn more. I have also grown spiritually mature, all credit to my spiritual and support group. I touched lives through my interactions and co-mingling with different types of people. Basically, I am happy with how I turned out to be. How about you?

Wow! you really have a good life, I mean you probably have a good and positive outlook in life because of your experiences. Me? I don't know, I'm getting old and still messing up. I hope one day I'll have a good life like yours.

Hello Ennaihl! I will be a total liar if I say that I had not experienced a fair share of disappointments in life..some of them big even. I had been down and out at the time when I just lost my job, my father quit his and my mother suffered stroke (her second attack). I am the eldest in the family and at that time I felt like I am such a loser..I cannot support my family. Back then, I was depressed and I even blamed God for my family's misfortune. It was after a period of total despair, I cried and I called out to HIM. It is then that I realized that I just need to unload my burdens to HIM and He will do the rest. My life then made a 360 degrees turn and I develop a sense of optimism that life would get better from thereon. It always pays to have a positive outlook in life. When in distress, count all the blessings that you have received and hope that one day, opportunity will come knocking on your door..all it takes is a big leap of faith..to God and to yourself. Every once in a while I do experience screw ups..after all, I am still human. I still have things that I needed to do and accomplishments that I wanted to achieve. But generally though, I am quite happy. I do hope that you get to have that inner drive and purpose to be happy. I believe that you'll get there. Just believe in yourself and do whatever you can to reach your goals.

I do sometimes do that, reflect on my present life and what it is giving me. TRuly i can say , i am happy because despite some failures in life i am still here on earth trying to make a stand for myself. I am happy that i have a daughter who is simple but intelligent. I am happy that she has graduated and will be taking up Medicine as scholar. I am happy because i feel that i am much closer to God, compared to my self decades ago. I am happy because despite some odds my husband and i is still very much together. Maybe there are some problems every now and then, but i just shrug because i know it's part of life.

You are truly and beautifully blessed Simplyd. We all have various struggles in life. Problems exist to make or break us. It all depends on our outlook and ability to make the best out of whatever life offers us. What we are now today results on what we decide during our past. It is always good to make a constant inventory on the blessings that we are currently enjoying. With that when we are faced with problems, we get to always remember that we have a support system: our loved ones and our ability to stand after a fall.

Hey sophie.,good discussion to share..I have many friends and also enemies in it.I welcome anyone in my circle of friendship and i never show the door to go out.If they want really go out and the door automatically open to them.I have a small thing in my mind.I studies in many schools and colleges and got many friends from different areas and i want to unite them all even for my marriage. I am mingling all together so that one can get connect to another and i want to see them under the same roof. Career is another part...We can get the job today or tomorrow doesn't matter. But keeping friends is utmost important.. keep rocking sophie...

I admire your being open-mindedness and your ability to be accomodating to each and everyone. I admit that I am quite reserved and only have had a handful of people whom i considered friends. I have been stabbed at the back at the past by a so called "friend". That experience made me learn to be more cautious with my friends.

Now my life was so complicated but only for myself as my feelings is concern. There is an intruder that disturbed my life from the silence of sleeping and concentration on the family i had. But this is because i think i was trapped with those good words and sayings that the tongue was said and the ears and heart may trapped so it ruin the silence. Aside from that also bothered by economic problems private and publicly. We know that when we talked about the economy of the country it goes long and never ending topic or discussions we ever made. So my life was full of actions too that makes my blood rise from morning till the sunset by those problems surround us. Yes, i am really affected by my environment. This is also the problem i am handling and i cannot win over it. Most i need to do is to accept all those things around me. And the truth. This will make me feel better. Hope i can do it. In God's will.

Hello mods..thank you for your insight on this topic. I know that we could get so caught up with our environment..we get really annoyed with the bad happenings and we tend to react negatively about it. Who could blame us? We are but humans and as humans, we care what happens in our surroundings. But in these times though, we need to have that sense of inner peace so that we can fully accept that there are some things in our surroundings that we cannot change. That whether or not we exist, these certain "happenings" or situation will continue to take place. Like it or not, we need to live with the fact that these situations do come and go. So while they are at it, we might at least have the sense to focus on whats more relevant in our own lives rather than get caught up with feeling crappy about it. I do hope that you get to overcome your feeling of helplessness when it comes to accepting the harsh realities in life that you do not have any control of. I trust that in due time you will be able to conquer your fears and overcome all your troubles. And with God's help, I know that it is only a matter of time.. :)
