Are You in Favor of Plastic Surgery?

I have nothing against anybody who decides on getting one. But I have to say that I only favor reconstructive plastic surgery but not cosmetic plastic surgery. I value my body because it is God's temple, I believe. Any reconstruction is unnecessary. The physical body will die sooner or later. It is the spiritual part of us that needs reconstruction. It is what we need to give attention to. But of course, it is always one's right to do what she or he wants to do with his own body. Being happy is important. But anything in excess is not normal anymore. And it goes true with everything including cosmetic surgery. Too much of this could harm the body, I believe. Also, maintenance is not that cheap. It requires money that can be used for more beneficial purposes. What says thou?

cant say that im against this. if he/she can afford such luxuries then by all means, get some of those nip and tuck operations. change is good but too much of everything is bad... and if something bad Finally happens, stop blaming anyone but yourself.

Indeed.. There are a lot of surgeries gone wrong these days and then it turns into a lawsuit and other drama. lol poor patient and poor doctor. I think it's kinda scary to think though that instead of becoming pretty somebody ends up rather less pretty and having problems.

Oh my gosh. I haven't heard of aesthetic surgical deaths though. Gosh, that makes it more scary. Well they sure are risking a lot then. I hope they get what they hoped for.

Thank you for posting this discussion. I was also planning to post a topic almost same as this. haha.. Well I believe people have reasons for wishing plastic surgery. And i have nothing against them. Though I kinda find it perplexing why some really pretty people still go for surgery. I mean they were already bestowed with God given beauty above the normal standard and yet they are still willing to pay enormous amounts for MORE? Anyway I personally think though that a persons flaw makes him or her unique and beautiful so i think i wouldn't want to be a miss perfect but rather a just ME because no one in this world is exactly the same as me. I am one of a kind.

the pursuit for beauty because of vanity can become addictive but is not satisfying. eventually, this can become a formidable psychological illness.

Indeed. It can be a very strong obsession. What happens to those who pursue it if they've already done every single surgeries though?

I'd never have plastic surgery; I'm getting older and that is fine by me. I was young once, I enjoyed it; now it's the turn of today's young to be young as i once was: good luck to them. Of course I like to look young, but I'm not going to have plastic surgery to achieve it. Also, in others, I love the natural look: what God gave people is what makes people most attractive. Having said that, I'm not against those who choose plastic surgery; they are doing it for their own reasons. We are all different. And in the cases of some people, it seems to produce remarkable results.

indeed. some really have remarkable results. your response reminds me of someone saying that what you do not like best about your physical appearance is your strength.

Hi bingskee. I cant afford it. :) But never mind. Even if Donald Trump were to write his fortune to me, I might not have gone for it. Reason? There are going to be new ways to improve my face, using stem cells based medicines. I am going to opt for them. :)

Hi bingskee I have nothing against those who have opted for plastic surgery even if they did so for cosmetics purposes. As for me, no I will not opt for it, I would be afraid of the adverse part of it, besides I do like how I look now. If I can enhance my hair, nails and weight that is enough for me. I often wonder that if someone gets something done and the results are good, will they stop there? Some get so obsessed with perfecting that they just do not know when they had enough. We should all be happy with what we have, beside a few thousand dollars of surgery could actually feed many in my home.

hello, dear. it can become addictive. there is a starlet here in the Philippines who had admitted that she cannot be satisfied and she always wants something to be done on her parts of the body. it is such a pitiful situation. i wonder where she will get money for the maintenance when there arent any big projects anymore for her.

I am not fond of plastic surgery because God created people a certain way and I don't think you should insult his creation. Besides people who get plastic surgery end up looking kind of fake, and they aren't considered beautiful.

I think that everyone has to make their own decision about plastic surgery. If other people are unhappy with their body and want to change their body in some ways I don't have anything against it. I have heard about some people who were very unhappy about their appearance and feeling very unsecure and their lives got better after they had plastic surgery. Personally I wouldn't get plastic surgery "just" to correct a part of my body that I didn't like, I would only consider it if I had an accident or an illness.

Plastic surgery is a choice that an individual has to make. I think i could only consider this if it was for a lifethreatening circumstance. for any other reason it would not seem necessary to me.

likewise, i will not opt for it if not needed. just like what you mentioned, if it is life threatening and have to be made, then id go for it.

I agree with you. There's just some people who are not contented with what they have. They just waste their money for nothing.

You are correct, there are really a lot more beneficial things to pay for the money to be used for Plastic surgery. I am not against this as well, it's just that we really can't let others happiness not be fulfilled because we are against it right? So we should just let them do it. Only the rich can afford this anyway, I mean only those with money. I am also not in favor of it because there are really some side effects with these kind of procedure. If one is ready for its effect to their body, then we can't force them not to do it. It's always the persons choice.

Cosmetic Plastic Surgery? Why for me! I am happy the way I am. My wife and family and even my friends accept me the way I look. Again, at 37 I do not think I will be able to compete on any paegants! As you say, Inner Beauty and Peace of Mind is one that matters to me most

it is actually dependent on one's state of mind. what matters most for an individual is what he or she considers as good.

Plastic Surgery? Honestly,I'm not really against it.There are some instances when people "need" plastic surgery.People can become disfigured by accidents and need plastic surgery to umm...kind of re-figure their face so it would look a little more natural. Then again, there are some really insecure people that just want to look more "beautiful." *shrugs*It's one of those subjects I don't really care about much. What people want to do to their bodies is their own business.

oh, yes, it is nobody's business if one decides to have a cosmetic surgery. it is their choice. who are we to question it? they will always have their reasons. we just have to respect it. unfortunately, i do not share their reasons. reconstructive surgery is a must for those whose physical features are damaged by accidents and other unlikely events.

I am not totally against it especially if it is reconstructive plastic surgery. But if people can afford that kind of luxury I won't go against them it is their money that they spent. But for me I don't want to undergo any plastic surgery if not really needed because for me, this is the way God designed us to be and I want people to love me not just because of beauty (that's because of plastic surgery), but I want them to like me for who I really am. In that way I will know who are those people who really love me and accept me for who I am.

I am still 26 and i am quite happy with my body and i could not ask for more. I could not say what i would think when i am in my 30s or 40s but as of now, i am not in favor of it because of its consequences plus it requires a lot of money!

Had i be given lots of extra money, i would opt for a cosmetic surgery. I would like to have my eye bags removed . Kidding aside, it's not bad to have a plastic surgery as long as you have the money and it's needed for your own good. But i think, it should be done in moderation, meaning those parts only that really, really needs reconstruction should be submitted to it. But for those that could alter your entire look, i guess i don't like it anymore. I will be a different person already if i do that.
