This photo shows yet another bed of my garden I started today. This has 4 hills of my A & C pickles and 4 yellow Zuchinni plants. It is roughly about 10 foot by 6 foot. I have a weed barrier with about 2 inches of mulch on it in hopes of having less weeds to pull this year. HAHAHA! What have you got growing this year? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I am having a blast viewing your garden in the works. The weed barrier and two inch mulch sounds like it will do the trick. With the rain and watering later seems like it will certainly minimize the extra weeds. You certainly have a green thumb there and hope all your veggies do well. With the spacing you made seems like you will have no problem with any of them. Enjoy the Zucchinis as they are very yummy.

This is just the start really. I still have sweet corn, beans, spinach, 2 types of lettuce, carrots and onions to plant. Plus whatever ealse my wife decides on at the last minute. HAHAHA! Then we have rasberries, strawberries, grapes, and 2 apple trees as well. All this for just 3 adults. LOL! Zuchinnis are great roasted on a BBQ grill too. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Inside the Java - I have really enjoyed getting to know Bob and Debbie off line as well as on. She has worked in this Cafe for twenty five or more years. Next time we are supposed to go to a German Restaurant.
HWG. last year when I went to Minnesota Grandpa Bob offered me Raspberry plants, but I did not know where I would put them. I do not know yet if I will get to go up this year. When I go up my hubby and I usually meet for dinner with Bob and his wife. We are going German this year. I have added a picture of me, between the two Bobs, at the Java, where Debby works.

I used to have a recipe for zucchini relish. It was some of the best I ever made. I have boxes and notebooks full of recipes. Need to organize them.

Yes you can pickle zuchinni. I've done it before. I add onion slices and cloves of garlic in it when I pickle it. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Do you have a window in your room that you could put a end table at and maybe get a patio size tomato plant? I bet it would make your room a lil more cheerful. Do they have a community garden there? If not maybe you could ask about them doing one there.

As usual, I am not keeping up with you. I have some tomatoes, some were purchased and some are from seed. I have peas. I have containers for some other things. Probably will buy some tomorrow. Oh, and I planted purple potatoes and they are up. The rhubarb from Wal Mart did not make it.

We were thinking about planting potatoes here too. Not sure if we should bother with seed potatoes or a few out from the kitchen.

That is great. I hope we get to work on our garden sometime later today. I doubt it though because we need to get the grass cut and weedeat and that may take all of our time up today. We plan to grow, corn, tomatoes, green onions and watermelon. We don't have the room for much else.

I hope your bed works out for you. That's the hard part about this time of year I have alot of ideas but no $. I don't have anything planted this year other than a few things in the window sill.... okra and milkweed. I don't know when we'll get to till as it's been a pretty wet and cool spring. our neighbor tilled this afternoon.

Yeah it takes money fr sure. I seem to spend more each year too. HAHAHA! I dig and turn the soil by hand. Tilleres are the price of a junker used car nowdays. $300 for a decent one and upwards of $600 for a great one. For the size I'd want anyhow. Really small ones cost $150 HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

It's lousy that it's the slow time of year at my hubby's work so we are just scraping by. So many ideas so small of budget. We had a small tiller but that only lasted a few years plus it's better suited to smaller spaces than a big garden bed. We have a decent one I just wish hubby would of stored it correctly this last winter, I hope it starts or I'm going to be out there watching him dig it up by hand.

I congratulate you, Bob. Today I palnted Swiss chard, with the hope that they´ll survive our Winter. I´ll be planting some lettuce too, but that´s about it, until Spring. Last year you told us it was your first time with yellow zuchinni. How were they, as compared to the green ones? I do wish I had the amount of land you have. I cannot plant more than 2 zuchinni plants and hope for the best.

I have always loved yellow zuchinni as they roast better than green ones. They were superb tasting. The "land" I have is not land really. It's just a yard but about 1 1/2 times the size of a normal yard is all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

My yard is handkerchief size. I´m paying the price for living in the capital and in a very good neighborhood. That is priceless for me. I don´t lock my house at night so I can run out for earthquakes (we have the Gold medal there).

Wow, that is so cool. I wish I have a bed garden as well. So far, I have managed to grow 1 pot of calamansi. It's cool that I can just harvest some when I want to make a juice. Soon, I want to plant some tomatoes, egg plants, chili and some other veggies.
