My daughter bought some dwarf yellow marigolds this Summer and placed them in her garden. At the beginning of March, the plants had seeded and my daughter was thinking of digging them up and throw them away. One day, while we were talking nearby, I picked up some seeds and brought them home. I plantd them just in case, as it was the end of Summer here. When I went away, I asked Andrés, a nephew who was going to stay at my home, to water the seedlings. I did not epect anything, but they were alive when I came back from my vacations, so I transplanted to bigger pots. Now they are starting to bloom and I´ll make a marigold bed absolutly out of season Aren´t they sweet!!!

That is really good. Marigold are really beautiful flowers. They will certainly brighten up your backyard and especially at summer will be so beautiful.

The special thing about these marigolds is that they are in bloom in Autummn. We are in Autumn now in my country. The little flowers showed their colours in spite of the cold. I will place them in where they won´t get the frost. if I can.

Sorry, I have only two climate wet and dry. I had guessed of course, it was summer in your country, but it hadn't to be. However, so nice to hear marigold bloomed well in Autumn.

Very pretty marigolds. We generally plant marigolds around and in the vegetable garden to keep the bugs and critters away. This works marvelously. Have to cover them when frost is expected though. We had a light frost last night. Hope that's the last one.

We will not have frosts until a month more, I hope. We are in Autumn, but our climate is mild. So my marigold will survive (with some help as covers go) until maybe the end of June.

WAY TO GROW..marguicha! Marigolds, the little workhorse of the flower world. I SO love Marigolds in all their glorious range of colors and sizes and for the benefits of growing them. They are always the guardians of my Tomatoes and Roses..as their not so pleasant aroma, keeps the aphids at bay. And here, they are pretty tolerant little troopers as far as weather. My absolute favourite Marigold is Lemon Gem Tagetes...and Marguicha, the lemon scent from them is heady. Must apologize for lateness in response..this is the time of year, here, SPRING, that my Landscaping business is UP and RUNNING, so fast I can hardly keep up! I think I can actually see the grass growing behind me as I cut..and watch the weeds pop up...LOL! Weather is very unpredictable, so if we get a day of sun...it's GO, GO..Go, and I am finding 12-14 hr. days are hard on this 64 yr. old bod.

I knw what Spring is, friend. Everything is beautiful, but it keeps you busy. I haven´t had many aphids lately but I will remember about using marigolds against them. I also know that work and age don´t mix well. The best helper for me is a very warm shower and rub and exercise a bit there (all the time singing, of course)

Very purdy, see what you would have missed if she had tossed them?

Marigolds seed well and will sprout and grow if you do not have cold weather. When the weather turns cold they are one of hte first flowers to die off.

Our Winters are not so cold. I hope they´ll survive if I remember to put a plastic bag over them at night.

I wasnt counting on them flowering, but was sad that they would just waste. So I made an experiment that included a lot of loving care.
