What is a direct and rented referral?

I have been surfing through the net and I was wondering how can you get a referral. what is a direct referral or a rented referral. And how does a referral system work?

direct ref when you refer someone to a system and it would be available lifetime and rented ref when you rent for a limited period a random member that can help you to improve your activity and earnings.Ref system is easy if you invite a person that subscribe on a site you will gain a percentage of the ref activity on the system.
