First rule of thumb for serious writers -- write about what you know. Readers want knowledgeable articles, not gibberish.

Thank you. I will be sure to keep that in mind when I write.

I completely agree write about the things that you know. I just submitted an article about the health benefits that tea has for depression because I drink alot of tea and know a lot about it. Go with what you know and enjoy. I also do research on some things as well.

Never believe what people say about how many hits certain subjects get - they're almost always just rumours. You'd be surprised what gets a lot of hits. Always write to your strengths (as has already been said). Producing useless crap might get hits but it won't get you a following. Looking at the rev share stuff I've produced in the past, the most hits have been on an article listing the 10 best French comedies to watch (300% more traffic than any other), how to figure out if you can get statutory sick pay and creative ways to decorate your office cubicle (a silly article, for laughs). Everything sells. Some things just sell more than others.
