This photo shows one of a few garden beds which I covered with mulch this week. This bed has onions and carrots. I've laid mulch in almost all my beds so far. I laid freshly sut grass clippings in my sweet corn bed and I have mulch laid in my cukes, squash, and tomato beds. All I have to mulch is my beans and cabbage/brocholli beds. Do you lay mulch on your garden beds? I do as it helps retain water and also acts as a weed protector somewhat. I also lay down a weed barried under the soil about a half inch deep. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Hi Grandpa Bob My, my you are busier then a bee, but the end results will be so worth it. I use to lay mulch too because it definitely helped with the mean weeds. Yes it definitely helped with keeping the soil moist. Are you sneaking in some rest? Hope all is well, and that your wife is recovering much better these days.

So wonderful to have heard that all your gardening went well and that you and Deb were out for a lovely evening with GG and her husband. Life is sweet and as long as we remain sweet we make for a happy world. Thank you for the BR!

That is a good idea to do. Wqe have never done that though. We need to get some weed barrier at least. My husband said he will just hoe it and till in between the rows.
