Just because you can sing , it doesnt mean you can sing everything.......

I can sing, I join singing competitions before, I use to be a part of the church choir (despite of the fact i can dethrone Satan in hell...) I have a failed band during highschool... LOL , When we hang out with our friends in karaoke night outs we tried to show off and sing, It feels great when you out-sang them and people gather to watch you sing. I'm sure many of you experienced this, you liked a song and you even sing it Acapella when your alone or you even hum it. then suddenly you tried to sing it in karaoke, the moment you open your mouth in front of the mic..... You cant sing it. It makes you out of tune... It could be the arrangement of the karaoke machine or the echo of the mic. Many singers lost singing contest due to song choice. Just because you can sing it doesn't mean you can sing any song you just happen to like.

I think it makes other people to stand out. We have or ups and downs. It gives other people the opportunity to get in the limelight.

hi! i could sing a bit but i wouldn't ever quit my daytime job or my business to pursue it as a career. lol i would starve. lol and since i'm not a performer, i would suck in this type of industry. at the most, i can say i could hold a tune, been in a glee club in highschool, sang in church, enjoyed videoke every now and then... but i definitely can't sing every song there is. i will leave that to the real singers. if ever i do sing, whether acapella or just humming it while listening to the radio or music videos... it's just a way to enjoy time and appreciate songs i like. have a great weekend!

His fans felt safe so they didnt vote. Maybe you should be watching "the voice" instead. that contest is not 100% people's vote.

even real singers cant sing every song there is, I mean look at in American idol, song choice is critical, many people failed to save their own life for choosing their favorite song. Just because they love listening to the song it doesnt mean they should sing it

Hiya Captain That is so very true. Not only singing, there are many other professions too where you cannot do everything on your own just because you can do a single thing right Talking about songs, acting there are plenty of people around who believe they can carry on with whatever comes to them... the results - many are now shelved.

yeah I saw some actors and actresses who tried to accept challenging roles but they got eaten alive. It doesn't fit them. Yeah no one can do everything.

Well, atmosphere plays a heavy role in singing ability as well. Smoky rooms, low oxygen levels, nervousness, drunkness...all these things can make singing really hard for a person. I always felt like anyone can sing. They just have to actually sing ha Good luck!

Its a skill that can be learned but singing by your self is different from singing on the stage. There are different layers of singing.

I am an expert singing in the shower. :p My sister and I were discussing the other day how bad we sing when we are with earphones. That really make me out of tone. It is so funny to hear me.

I think one of the reason why earphones can make you feel out of tune is the musical arrangements. In American idol, they changed the arrangement of the song to make its fit with the singers vocal

Changing the arrangement via guitar or piano works, IT makes a song singable to me but wont work with the karaoke because it has a fixed arrangement.
