Vietnam

My city has a lot of trees were planted along the two sides of road. They are very nice. And almost them are perennial plants. Now is rainy season. The rains usually arrive in this city with sudden heavy fall of water and wind. After each rain like that, some trees were broken. Broken trees endangering for surrounding buildings and vehicles. You can see in the picture. Have you ever seen this condition in your city?

Not often but yes at least once or twice in the summer. I have seen tress get yanked right from the roots and onto vehicles. It is has been where there is such high winds and hail that a lot of damage has been caused.

We had the same problem last year. It was raining heavily and the wind was blowing like crazy at the same time. The trees at the back of our school were uprooted, most of them. And one of the tree fell on top of a car which had been parked there. i wish I had a picture to show it to you but unfortunately I don't.

Hi I live in Singapore and we have many many trees around too. The government here says that tress can help us reduce the heat and absorb some noise, helping us to reduce noise pollution in the country. Thus, along roads and expressways, tress are lined up all around. However, the weather in recent years have been very very bad. Sometimes the weather is super hot and at other times it's raining cats and dogs. There are cases where the trees are uprooted in Singapore which is a rare sight in the past. I think just last year, there was this unfortunate guy who was driving during a very rain and a tree just uprooted by the thunderstorm and the tree just landed on this car. It hit the man and he passed away. He's really unlucky. I hope it will not happen to me.

Yea, it happened here too but it was caused by strong wind. Luckily, it did not land on any nearby vehicles or houses. Sometimes we do have landslides here as well when there is a heavy rain and it would cause a road block.

i have seen similar scenario in the Philippines, my homecountry, before especially when the rainy season comes and there are storms coming. i hate to see the beauty of nature disappearing. i always wish that it is a sunny yet not hot day in the Philippines. but now that i am living in London, i do not get similar experience because their rain here is very light.

At my place, the local town council is trying to green the area by planting a lot of trees at the road sides. Concerning to the safety of the public and their assets, the town council of my place are trimming the trees regularly. By trimming the trees regularly, there will be a better views of those plants too. If your place is having the same practice, I am sure such incidents can be minimized too.

We have tree that get too heavy from water and the branches snap. I think here the wind does the most damage. When I was a kid, the wind rarely blew here and if it did it would not be very hard. But now everyday at about 2 p.m. the wind starts to blow and it just get worse by the hour. Causing a lot of damage each day. Best Wishes!
