For most dogs (especially larger breeds who weigh 40lbs or more as adults) 2 years old is barely the end of their puppy time :) In fact, a lot of dogs should even be on puppy chow until they are a year and a half to two years old! So, the answer to your question is yes, you should be able to teach your dog lots of tricks. Keep in mind that s/he may not learn as quickly as a 6 month old puppy, so just be patient and persistent. If you have the option to do so, hire a professional trainer and/or attend classes. Obedience classes are not for the dog's benefit - they actually teach YOU how to train the dog. Hope this helps!

yes you can for sure train your dog at that age. i have a ten year old jack russel i just got her in march. she already knew some tricks. i decided one day to see if she could learn more. i taught her very easily how to take her ball and put it away in a basket and how to jump thru a hoop. she is definately very bright quick learner. just be patient and im sure your dog will be able to learn new things too.

Well you can but you really need patience in training your dogs.

All dogs can learn new tricks as long as you're willing to put in the work. I have gone against the saying and even taught old dogs new tricks. Its just about rewarding them and keeping at it. Since your pup is young still it should be easy, and it will be loads of fun to show people what you taught the pup to do, and he/she will love the praise for it.

yes, the TV programme "Myhtbusters" demonstrated this fact :)

I dunno what's with my dog cause I can't teach her anything... I just don't think if he's mentally unprepared or inappropriate for a dog to teach tricks. Her breed is coton de tulear.

Oh yeah, 2 isn't that old, though the younger they are, they do pick it up quicker..Even an older dog can learn new tricks, just it takes more time..:)
