In your opinion. I know many will say the mothers but I never heard a story like Joanna D'Arc's. She saved France from slavery, with only 20 years she changed the destiny of a country. It is so amazing. She even faced being killed by burning in fire with courage and bravery. I think God sent her. Without her that country could maybe even not exist today. So for me, Joanna D'Arc is the most admirable woman ever.

While I agree that Joan D'Arc's story is inspirational, she's a saint in the Catholic Church because of it, I think you may overstate her a little bit. France was not in danger of being a slave state. The French were not slaves to the British, but they were under British rule which they did not like (for good reason). As for France not existing, the power struggle between Britain and France had been going on for a long time. France would exist, what form it would take might have been a question. She was burned at the stake for being a witch, which is one of the most horrific ways to die. As for the facts of her life, much of it is lost in legend. I am not diminishing her or what she did for the country of France. She was a leader and a fighter and it is believed that she was touched by God. However, when I look at admirable women, I prefer to look at ones I know more of. Mother Theresa would be someone who is admirable. She gave up so much to help the poor and through her efforts brought so much good into the world. While I admire and respect the story of Joan D'Arc, Mother Theresa fills me with hope and inspiration in a way a story cannot.

Charity is a wonderful way of helping people in the short-term, but education and opportunity is the only way to truly help people. The old saying that if you give a person a fish, he eats for a day, but if you teach a person how to fish, he eats for a lifetime is true. There are those among us who will never be able to live without our charity and it is our responsibility to help them. That was something Mother Theresa taught. However, those people are a minority and it is imperative that we give everyone else the tools to better their own lives and not live on the charity of others. Times are not always good and charity is expensive. If people can fend for themselves, even in the down times, life will be better for everyone, especially the neediest among us.

I am not much interested in warrior bravery I must recognise, although I respect your point of view. But for me, people like Mother Theresa are more admirable. We know about her, but there are lots of unknown women like her who work humbly for the sake of others. Some accomplishments show more than others, but they are nonetheless very important.

Hi katie, We have proofs in hand of women of the courage and valor of Joan D Arch. She is surely an epitome of inspiration that at times women too can take up the task of men and make themselves feel proud. The is the male domination that has been acting against the power and capability of women.

HI katie: I think that's really a difficult question, simply because there are so many important and wonderful women in all human history but I'll talk about Joanna D'Arc. She was a strong woman and she was a saint. She was a really wonderful woman that have free her country. Simply amazing. I can't tell you who's the most admirable woman but she might be one of them. I would also include Mother Teresa on this list. ALVARO

You got that nice thinking. Actually answers to this kind of questions are totally dependent upon the attitude you own, and what is your vision towards a lady that she may be admirable or even not. The same example i can give you is the of "Rani LaxhmiBai" in India, She fought against thousands of British, under whom india got slaved. But on that time a British leader praises of her, and this is i think a very good example of a admirable women, though you posted of Joanna D'Arc's is the most admirable cause she saved the whole nation from being thrown out of world map. Apart from this Mother of individual is first admirable, may be sometimes not. But as soon as questions arises, 90 percent of people probably thoughts of their own Mother. Any way happy lotting and have a great day ahead...
