My Penchant for Noodles

I don't know if you dig this, but I think in my past life I am Chinese or Japanese. The reason behind this is my rather over-the-top love for noodles and Ramen. I know it's carbohydrates and that it can make me gain weight, but still it doesn't stop me from ordering it in restaurants and fast food chains. I even buy the instant ones and the ones on stalls. I just can't get enough of it. Some of you may say that you only eat instant noodles when there's no other options or if you can't cook. But for me, I really do want to eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. I love the spicy and saucy ones. I also like those topped with beef or pork. I love noodles . How about you guys? Do you share the same sentiments as mine? What do you think about noodles? Is it a healthy food? What are your views or experiences? I'd love to read about them.

Noodle Soup - Not a favorite food
I'd eat noodles sometimes but not those instant ones. Anything instant to me is not healthy. And actually I am not fond of noodles. I think this is a lousy food and meant only for sick people, ha!ha!ha! (No offense meant to those who are so fond of this.) I can't even finish a bowl of noodles. I'd just sip some spoons of the soup then scoop and eat tall the veggies then leave it behind.

Pancit Canton - Favorite noodles
But my husband loves one kind of noodles. It is called pancit canton but he does not like instant pancit canton because like me he also very health conscious. He orders his pancit canton from a Chinese restaurant near our home. It is very tasty because it is loaded with veggies, shrimps, squid, beef strips and liver.

Hello Professor, Is it a cultural custom not to eat beef and pork in your place? At least your daughter in law adds veggies in her noodles to add a nutritional value in it. Thank you for the response. God bless and have a great day ahead.

Few moths back, noodles used to be my daily food, i'm very much fond of it, but every one warned that eating such junk foods may lead to any health problems, so now i almost forgot that word now, but i used to enjoy a lot eating them:)

I have been warned a lot of times. By my dad usually, but I just can't seem to stop. I blame it on the age or just on my hard-headedness. I think maybe in the future I'll start to worry about my health too. But for now, I plan to eat all kinds of noodles before I get warned by a doctor. LOL. Good for you to have stopped though. I'm guessing it will take me a long time to stop.

I do like noodles, but I prefer it as a side dish rather than the only thing I eat. You need to make sure you are including vegetables and some kind of protein in your diet as well. If you only eat carbs, your body won't have all the materials needed to keep healthy. Do you eat a balanced diet or is it noodles only? I wish you good health!

Well as much as I like to have noodles only, my father makes sure that we eat a balanced diet. I remember one time we fought at the dining table because I was eating too much noodles and he was giving me a lecture on how unhealthy it is. Hahaha... Thanks for wishing me good health. I wish the same for you too.

I like Ramen noodles too. There is a restaurant downtown where I live serve Ramen noodles and they do make you real full if you order it real full.

Wow... I'd love to eat in that restaurant for sure. Ramen is kinda rare here in our place, but it is available if you really look for it. Sometimes i settle for instants.

Yes indeed it is an easy dish. Plus it is really economical too. In our place instant noodles only cost about 8 pesos. But we should not eat it on a daily basis as we also need other food groups.

Hi. flapiz. I love noodles too. Especially, Ramen and Angel hair noodles. Yumm! I bought a six pack of noodles for my kids yesterday. I plan to cook these for them when they get hungry or when I just want to give them a yummy snack. I love spicy noodles too. I also love beef and creamy chicken flavored noodles as well. I have never craved noodles for every meal that I usually eat though.

Hello Cream... I am happy to know that you are also into noodles. By the way, Angel Hair Noodles is unfamiliar to me so I searched it in the internet and voila! it is common here. I just don't know it's name. Hahaha. Anyway, I think your kids are really lucky because you cook them yummy snacks. I love spicy noodles too and all you've mentioned above. It makes my mouth water. lol

I am the same way I love noodles and pasta, not to mention I can not cook to save my life and anyone can cook pasta not to mention if your on a budget its perfect. Lately I have been hitting up this local Italian Restaurant and I am the type of guy who always orders the same thing I know how boring. My usual is this combo platter its manicotti and 2 stuff shells plus I grab a tiramasu. Its a really good dessert and I am totally addicted to them. I also love Chinese food but since I have moved I have not been able to find a good Chinese restaurant I have had the urge for Butterfly Shrimp for like 2 years and just cant find it for the life of me. Butterfly Shrimp is excellent and I would recommend it if you can find it, Its just Large Shrimp with Bacon in this duck sauce/garlic mixture. Anyways sorry to go off topic, Just wanted to say I agree Pasta/Noodles are Great and like you said they are a good source of protein All this talk is making me so hungry and I just woke up so I better go, Great Post Take It Easy

I love pasta too. I love anything of those variety. The long strips. LOL. You seem to know a lot about food. Are you a chef? Hehe. I also order the same thing most of the time, but I also take some risks to taste unknown delicacies. Just not the exotic ones like: frogs, lizards. Eeek. Sorry for making you hungry. Hahaha. Go grab a bite. By the way the tiramisu sounds great. It makes me drool. Too bad it's an hour before midnight here. I will research about that butterfly shrimp. Hehe.. Bye. Have a nice day.
