In the seaside town I live in is a beautiful park and part of it is called Jill's Garden. It has blue painted wood, colorful flowers and palm like hardy trees. It is a relaxing place to sit and read a book or look at the picturesque garden. Have you been to a lovely park or garden? If so what is it like? Overseas have go been to any nice gardens?

I have been to a few gardens in South India. One was in my childhood, in Ooty, It is situated in the Western Ghats of South India. This Ooty is supposed to be the Queen of Hills and the impressions of this place are firmly etched in memory. One reason is that I visited this place during my childhood days, with a few cousins of mine. So, you know how it is. The lovely, pleasant association of memories would always give an additional charm to the place. Now, this Ooty has a huge garden and it is named 'Botanical garden'. I remember having walked stretches and stretches[at least my little legs felt that way] and one important picture arising right in front of my eyes is a picture of landscaped India completely adorned with different flowers and demarcated colorfully according to the different states. I do not know if it is still there now. Secondly, I visited KOdaikanal and there is a garden 'Bryant's park' in this. This is a big garden and with the surrounding hills it is a visual treat. It has some ancient trees with imposing branches and massive trunks . Another one that sprang to mind was ‘Sivagangai Poonga” of Tanjore , a quaint little place in Tamil Nadu. This is a pl ace of historical significance, of wonderful regional cuisine and this particular garden was supposed to be the park of the King. This has been renovated and I visited this place on a rainy day and was bowled by its charm. It is not huge but charming nevertheless. Two trees need special mention . One is known as ‘Elephant leg’ and another is ‘’Raja raja chozhan”. The trunk of this tree looks exactly like an elephant’s leg.. Then there are the most beautiful gardens called ‘Brindavan’ in Mysore in India which sprawl over acres of land and. these gardens are laid out below the Krishnaraja Sagar dam built across the river Cauvery.

You must.My descriptions have not done full justice to the places.THey are wonderful places and each one is special in its own way.WHile Ooty and Kodaikanal are proper hill stations, the other two are not. But they have spots of historical interest [there are palaces and forts]and Tanjore is famous for the aromatic coffee and food they serve.

When my disabled son was younger I took him up to Northumberland for a long weekend. We did visit beautiful Alnwick Gardens and see their amazing looking tree house. I hope that you will get the chance to go there because that garden is spectacular.

Possibly the most beautiful gardens I've ever beheld are the Tuileries in Paris, which are so elegant, it takes the breath away. This was the first garden to truly impress me. Although in London, my city, there are many stunning parks and gardens. Possibly the most paradisiac of them all is Kew Gardens, which is just wonderful to walk around, especially in the summer, especially when it's relatively quiet. It's such a haven. But then London is famous for its greenery, for rural areas in the midst of a bustling metropolis.

The gardens in Paris seem to have a stylish appearance and well ordered look to them. I am happy to hear that the Tuileries delighted you so very much. I adore Kew Gardens and think its palms made me keen on the tropics. I like the Marianne North Gallery and all its lovely plants. I also really like St James Park close to Victoria Station in the center of London.

Hi Maxine, Like you I live in a coastal town and just yesterday took my young son to our local park, it has a wonderful pond which is now full of growing tadpoles and newts which are getting rarer but we spotted a few, some beautiful flowers and massive old trees with lots of greenery and then activities like mini golf, bowls, a skate park and swings for the children to play and there is even a little cafe that does children's meals which includes drink, cheddars, a sandwich and a yoghurt all for just £2.50 which I think is an excellent price if you spending the day there. huggles. Ellie :D

Part of my garden. - Strolling in my garden is a constant source of joy to me.
I have been to several package holidays and there is always a visit to the park thrown in. But even if I were to say so myself I like my garden which I have created that has several fruit trees, flowering bushes, a water fall and bird bath that attract severl species of birds. The well appointed paths add decor to this landscaped garden.

I've been to a park before but not a garden. It was when I was like three or four or maybe five. It was with my mom, my cousins, sister and then my then-stepfather. It was nice because I went on the playground and played with this other kid who was actually I a girl. But the funniest thing happened while I was there. I had an accident on myself because there was no bathroom...lol. So even though I had a good time I also had an embarrassing time all at the same time.

I think I read somewhere here that you went to Vancouver Island. If you did, then I think you've been to one of the biggest gardens I've been to, the Butchart Gardens. It's a big park with lots of different areas, and different flowers to appreciate. It's nice just to spend a day there, doing nothing.

Here we have a beautiful park called I-City park. What is so special about the park is it is very good if you visit it at night rather than day time. It is a park where all the main attractions are made of plastic and millions of bright LED lights. i-City's artificial forest of maple and pine trees really comes to life at night. It is like you are being surrounded by creatures that basically LED lights. Visit at night and remember to bring along your DSLR to capture mind-blowing light display here in this amazing park.

There this big park close to where I live. Well not so close but around 20minutes by bus. It's name is Yeouido Park and is one of my favorite places. It really is beautiful and I go there usually to ride bikes and read books. It's really lovely but on a Sunday, it gets really crowded which is kinda annoying =D

I do believe that I have gone to beautiful parks but I just could not see the beauty and serenity of them because of too many people spending their time there. Where I had been to are too small to accommodate all the people and those that are really tourist attractions are in far provinces which I wish to see to find myself daydreaming.

I have been in the park near my house. It's so quite, many birds is singing along the wind who blows slowly through my ears and hairs. Moreover, there's a small river nearby. I love watching crabs and shrimps below. But what makes me so peace is when I hear the sounds of water. What a peaceful environment.

I´ve been in a little village where the whole place was like a park. It was lovely. Every house had an overflowing garden, and at the this time of year everything was coming out and really green. There were lovely flowers everywhere and I found some of the strongest smelling mint I´ve ever smelt growing with some lettuces under a rosebush!

I use to like to sit in my van a few years ago and look at all the lights and country side, while out catching up with friends, however i can not drive anymore, so i can not do that. When my children were alot younger i use to like to go to the parks where there were nice gardens as well as the ducks, just to really relax. But i prefer to go to the beach.

I envy you living in a seaside town moreover It is a garden city.we live inland ,On the banks of Yangtze river.Even though we don't take pride in any beautiful park but our city is noted for mountain.the most famous mountain is Tian Zhu Mountain that is referred to as Southern Mountain. In addition,Huangshan Mountain ,the World Geological Park,is about 300 km from here.
