I never taught there was any discussion guideline, i taught i can just write anything on mylot, i didn't know that i need to read the discussion guideline, until the day i start a discussion that was a joke, the next day i realise it's been deleted, i begin to wonder why, i then took my time to read the discussion guideline, and i realise it was against the rules, i realise i was wrong, do you read the mylot discussion guidelines whe you joined, has this ever happen to you before

I didn't read them first time round - and I learnt my lesson Then when I rejoined I read them inside out and upside down and got things right (most of the time ) and now I try and help others to understand them too. There are guidelines and not rules and once we realise the reason behind myLot creating them, then it is so much easier for us to understand them. I also think that having one topic/response deleted early on helps us to realise that myLot is only the great site that it is because of them and we should be thankful that they are there as they benefit us all.

He, like everyone else here, is doing his own thing. MyLot give us many choices, one of them being the choice to cancel and start again, which he has done many times since I joined. I believe he is busy offline now and therefore, like many of us, has less time for myLot but he has not vanished

That is a fairly interesting question, so it merits a fairly interesting question. Right when I started out, if I remember correctly, I took a courtesy look at the discussion guidelines. Not really reading it when you think about it. Of course, it is a lesson that was well learned, and I did go back and reread it before too long. Trust me, there are a lot of headaches that can be avoided. There is nothing worse than writing up a very thoughtful post and then having it nuked, because it disobeyed some site guidelines. Granted, it may take like a bit too much to take in. And many people feel that there may not be any way we are going to remember every single word of those site guidelines. Which is why its a good idea to really take a look over those things from time to time. Just a rather small look, just really something to really refresh the memory. Because quite frankly, we all forget things sometimes, so therefore, we need a reminder.

No. Actually when I join any new websites, I will not read the guidelines. As I think it wastes the time:) And I even think that I will not do something to break it:) When I stay in Mylot for a long time, then I understand which kinds of discussions that I shall not post. Otherwise Mylot admin will delete your discussions. I love China

I remember the day when I joined myLot. Similar to your experience I never thought that their was a guidelines that I need to read first before I go through all my response and discussions. My post wasn't deleted immediately after the day, until one of the member caught me and told me that I was violating the guidelines and if I repeat again my account been suspended. So I was apologized them and asked what I'm going to do to delete my discussion because I didn't saw any button to delete. They answered me that there's no possibility to delete it. However, to be honest, they said I need to send message to the Admin to delete it, that was I did and my discussion gone after 2days. All newbies should read first the guidelines before starting to participate here. Much better if Admin will make a feature after newbie successfully sign-up they will redirected to the GUIDELINES to avoid violations.

Yeah that's right. When I have joined Mylot then firsthand I read some of the discussions about, read the FAQ, about their rule and policy. How the discussion going on Mylot. Then I wrote my first discussion about SQL server issues but not get much more response.

idmega I always read the guidelines and all the information offered as I know that I need this information to make discussions properly and to make my mylot experience a lot more fun.its like reading the recipe to make a cake instead of just dumping various ingredients together and hoping it turns out okay.I like to really know just what I am doing and this helps me.I have never had a discussion deleted as I mind my ps and qs always.

Yes, I read it before I joined though. Reading rules are very important before joining a site, especially when you're joining a paying site. If you see that there are actually many strict rules, probably it is not a scam.

i just read the guidelines in a hurry so that i can get an overview of what i can and cannot do. I did not understand and kept in mind most of them and that is the reason why my other discussions were deleted too. I guess you cant take it all in at one time. Also it takes time for us to really understand all of it and apply it.

I read the guideline before I posted anything or started any discussions when I joined, but I still don't really remember everything. I just find out I did something against it when I open my e-mail. XD Don't worry about committing mistakes. Everyone makes them whether or not they prepared for whatever they're getting themselves into.
